Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. I have no idea if when I feel an emotion if it's me or my disorder. I'm my brain's bitch. FML
Today, I had a date with a man who works as a psychiatrist. He diagnosed me with borderline personality disorder during dinner. FML
Today, I, an extreme social introvert, who can’t stand being around people for more than 10 minutes, has just been diagnosed with an incurable brain disorder that will increasingly require other people to be around me to monitor me and run my life. All of which, to me, feels worse than having the disorder. FML
Today, I was diagnosed with a self-destructive personality among other things. I saw everything from my past instantly, like photographic memory recall. It was utterly terrifying, from extreme childhood drug-induced trauma that continues to this day. FML
Today, it's been a whole year since I have made any social interaction with anyone, and I don’t miss it, like… at all. The only person I have talked to is a psychiatrist, who diagnosed me with schizoid personality disorder. I always knew there was something wrong with me. FML
Today, I diagnosed myself with a debilitating case of vicious circle: I am now too depressed to do the things that usually manage to pull me out of my depression. FML
Today, I realized my parents are pretty much single-handedly responsible for all of the mental illnesses and personality disorders I have now. FML
Today, I overcame my lack of social confidence and got a date for the first time in 10 or so years. After a while, my date admitted that she's a schizophrenic with dissociative identity disorder. I guess it's back to being single. FML
Today, my psychiatrist said, "Well, good luck." at the end of my appointment. FML
Today, I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. Although I am very happy in a sense and feel that there is finally an explanation for the past, this issue is not conducive to my adjustment to society. FML

“Can’t say much about the guy, but I can tell you he’s got PERSONALITY!” Haha all jokes aside, I don’t think it’s really that bad - simply because honestly I think MOST people have some sort of personality disorder. It’s just not diagnosed. I know tons of people who display narcissistic traits, or general social awkwardness, or manipulative sociopathy, or basic anxiety, or anything in between. Look at our society. I think we would benefit from more people seeing mental health professionals. There’s clearly a lot of undiagnosed issues flaring up in our society right now... The positive in your case is you are seeing someone and you can address your issues to make your life better! Through therapy, you can learn coping skills, how to interact with people, etc. If it’s a disorder that takes medication to treat, you can now start getting the treatment you need. It’s a great first step to major positive changes in your life! Next, you can do better with meeting people, making friends, finding love, and more! Congratulations! Try to stay positive and work together with your psychiatrist and/or other mental health professionals to make some amazing changes in your life 😃❤️

that's not necessarily a bad thing, baby. now that you know what's "wrong" you can start learning yourself better, and gain a better understanding of what you can work with and what you have to work around. embrace the knowledge

Dude, I have a personality disorder which leaves me chatting to myself and idly fantasising about gruesome ways to kill myself. This asside I have never been happier, I have a wife and three kids. Regular therapy really helps along with medication you can get used to this and you'll be absolutely fine. 👍🤘🤘

At least you have something! Some people without personality disorders have no job, no love and no friends. They have no excuse except for being a shit person. Now you have an official excuse!

I know this must seem like a devastating diagnosis but actually it's a good thing. now you know what you need to do, accept it ,get help, get knowledge, accept treatment. life will get better it may not seem like it but it will therapy is amazing and it will help beyond anything you can imagine just stay focused on yourself for now making yourself better and eventually friends love and jobs will fall into place and I'm talking from experience here.

You've no job and can still afford a psychiatrist. that's a win. Now think about the people with a job that can't afford the $120 dollar trip to the clinic or medication when they get sick.
