Today, I was driving when I noticed that the guy in front was on the phone. I pulled up next to him, pulled out my phone and I made a gesture that he needed to put his phone away. It was a cop. I got a ticket for driving while on my cell phone. FML

How is that any safer than the cop using their cell phone? OP should have been, I don't know, paying attention to the road and minding their own business instead of hunting down another driver.

Challenge it in court and tell them the cop was on his phone while driving. You might be able to get it nullified.

How the does Op deserve it? Cops need to follow the laws too. They radios for "police work". Op just used the phone as a gesture not actually talking on it therefore not breaking any laws. Cops don't have the right to be a dick just because they get caught doing something wrong.
