Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, after I injured my left wrist from holding my nephew the wrong way for too many hours on New Year's, and found out that it would optimistically take 4-6 weeks to heal, this morning I managed to give myself second degree burns on my right hand from handling a tray I didn't know was hot. So that's three weeks with no hands. FML
Today, I woke up from surgery to find that the chronic warts on my right hand hadn't been removed. The doctor informed me that they'd grown into my radial nerve, so impossible to remove without permanent paralysis. My immune system sucks, so this is just in my hand forever. FML
Today, I broke my dominant hand. My teacher insists we hand-write our essays. I called and asked if it was okay for me to type up the essays. She said no. I have two essays due tomorrow, which count for half my grade. FML
Today, I had surgery on my arm. My mom has recently had the same surgery, and my dad is having his first rib removed and won't be able to move his arm. My family combined now has three functioning arms. FML
Today, in an effort to save some money, I attempted to paint my own house. Instead, I fell off the ladder and broke my dominant arm. Now I can’t work, brush my teeth, or even wipe my ass. My house is half-painted with stuff everywhere and I have 6 weeks to recover. FML
Today, I smashed my finger with a hammer. A finger on the hand holding the hammer. FML
Today, during my second shift back at work after missing four weeks for knee surgery, I stabbed myself in the hand and now need three weeks off for that surgery. Just as I'm up for a promotion. FML
Today, my brat of a coworker tried to convince our boss that I should get paid half of what I'm making because I broke my right arm. I'm left-handed, broke it on the job, and still doing a better job than her. She makes double what I do. FML
Today, I got home from the hospital after having emergency surgery on my hand. My TikTok obsessed teenager, who barely noticed I was gone, never mind that I had surgery, chose today to actually leave her room and sit downstairs with the family. Yeah, she sat on my hand. I cried. Like a baby. FML
Today, a doctor examined my wrist, which is completely swollen and painful. He diagnosed a case of tendonitis and asked me, "Do you use this hand for a particular sort of sport?" I just smiled like a twit. FML

Writing is a complex neurological process that takes a ton of fine motor skill. Of course suddenly losing part of your hand's function is going to impact your handwriting. You just got sent several squares back in that learning process. Real86Hands was born without hands, from what I can find. He started from square one and learned how to write the same way you once did as a kid. I don't think sudden injury can compare to that. Still, I understand why this would be frustrating to you. Nobody likes losing basic functions and having to build them back up. I can only hope that you'll be able to regain something of what you lost, and I hope the situation will calm down soon so you'll be able to dedicate all of your time to that.

Penmanship? Here's what you do: crush them at horse shoeing and then beat them at stoking. That way, you'll win the Triathlon of Obsolete Skills! Slava Ukraini!

Dude, legions of doctors have worse penmanship than you, and their hands are not injured.
