Today, I drove six hours with a friend to see one of her favorite bands in concert. We were turned away at the door because the online site didn't say we had to be 21 to enter. I drove six hours back with nothing to show for it but an empty gas tank and useless tickets. FML

Today, my friend and I went to see our favorite band in concert. We walked at least a mile from our parking space and stood in line for two hours. My friend was supposed to have the tickets in her purse. She actually had, but she left her purse in the car. FML
Today, my friend and I drove three hours to attend a U2 concert. We had been psyched about the tickets for weeks because they were awesome seats (my early Christmas present). After a long drive, we get to the venue and I realize in horror that I left tickets at home, on my desk, three hours away. FML
Today, it was the concert of my life. I had bought tickets the minute they went on sale, and I'd anxiously waited until the concert date. Thirty minutes before the show, my friend got so drunk that we weren't allowed in, and I was stuck babysitting her all night in the hotel, completely missing the show. FML
Today, I drove 150 miles to see one of my favorite singers in concert. Before I got out of the car I checked to make sure I had the tickets. Did I have the tickets? Yes. Were they for today's concert? Nope. FML
Today, I was going to meet my friend at a concert. I got there before her, so I went in to check out the local bands that were playing before the headliner. When she got there, I went just outside the building to give her a ticket. The security guards wouldn't let me back in. She went in anyway. FML
Today, I was supposed to be going to Edinburgh to see my favourite band live. I was expecting to be picked up at 8 a.m. for the drive there, but I woke up to a text saying my friend bought tickets for the wrong city. The show he paid was for 2 days ago. FML
Today, I spent hundreds of pounds buying my best friend concert tickets to see our favourite band, complete with a meet and greet. I drove over very excited to pick her up to take her. She had already left. With her boyfriend. FML
Today, I went to see one of my favorite bands. They were having signings, but only the first one hundred could get one. When I finally got to the desk, they said I was number hundred and one, and to get lost. FML
Today, I drove my friends two hours to see a tourist attraction I had been talking up for months. It burnt to the ground last week. FML
Today, after saving up my money for weeks, I went to see my favorite artist in concert with my friends. Two songs in, I passed out, hit my head, and had to have someone drive me home. FML

been there. only i didn't have tix in advance, but still, i wanted to see the show. tried to go to another show in the same city and it was sold out. i even tried to find out if you had to be 21 to get into the first show, but couldnt get anyone on the phone and the website didnt say. better luck next time.

why is everyone saying sell the tickets? it was the OP's friend's FAVORITE band! sneak in! security at those places is usually mildly high, but easy enough to get through once the show has been going on for a few minutes

That sucks. It almost happened to me once. There was a singer me and my best friend really liked that we were planning on seeing. We checked the website a few times but didn't see anything about age. Luckily, before we bought the tickets my friend noticed it said 21+ in some fine print. You'd think they'd make it a lot clearer!

Uh yeah why didn't you try to sell the tickets?? And you could have tried to sneak in....you shoulda tried somethin' after going all that way....:)
