Today, I thought of the saying “TV killed the radio star”, because in the show I'm currently watching it is so dark most of the time that you can neither see people’s faces, nor what is actually happening. If that’s modern television, we might just as well go back to radio. FML

Today, once again, my family had a loud conversation over the television show I was quietly watching. Ironically, the moment they watch something they like, even if it's a re-run episode, you have to be quiet or you'll be called a monster. Simply say "Hi" and they'll pause the TV to look at you like an annoyance. FML
Today, nothing changed. Today was the same, and I feel like I'm in a dark comedy version of the movie Groundhog Day meets The Truman Show. I hate dark comedies. I want my life to be canceled… I mean, this movie to be canceled. FML
Today, I'm watching another teen TV show, taking me back to my childhood, which sucked in a million ways, being the poorest and ugliest nerd with an evil father. I never enjoyed a day of my childhood, teenage or school. Grades were a life and death situation, because education was the only way out of that hell hole. FML
Today I wanted to get my mind off of everything COVID, so I watched my favorite TV show. It’s about COVID now. FML
Today, I realised I get really attached to characters in long-running TV shows, because I have no friends. FML
Today, my family wonders why I don't call them more often. Probably because every single facet of my life is a disaster; medically, professionally, mentally and emotionally. Who wants to listen to a radio station that has nothing but bad news playing on it? Also, no habits that will get me an early grave. Lucky me. FML
Today, I’m getting so old that the local radio station that plays the “old classics” is playing songs I listened to in high school. FML
Today, I joined a conversation about a TV show at work, agreeing enthusiastically. After a few minutes, I realized they were talking about a completely different show with a similar name. I nodded along, trapped, hoping no one asked questions. FML
Today, when I had a go at my husband for spending way too much time in front of the TV, he pointed the remote control at me while miming turning down the volume in order to make me shut up. FML
Today, our internet is down so I told my daughter to watch a DVD instead. She looked at me dead in the face and asked what a DVD was. To think I even remember VHS tapes. Damn I’m getting old. FML

It's not a saying, it's a song, "Video Killed the Radio Star." The Buggles would be pissed! It seemed that way in the 80s, but now with podcasting, lots of people are doing well with an audio-only format.

Get a better TV screen, and arrange the lighting in the TV room in a proper way.

In American media productions, the lighting technicians have strong unions, so smaller productions and large productions from greedy companies will often not hire a lighting tech to cut costs. I don’t know entirely how it goes in Germany, but often in my country, productions will try to mimic American aesthetics and film trends, and unfortunately this leads to copying the Worst Lighting Known To Man as well because of a lack of understanding of *why* the lighting is deplorable.

sounds like you need to adjust your tv's picture to watch the show. it's a easy fix. some movies and shows are darker then most. also it's a song not a saying and video killed the radio star lol.
