Today, I was told “unofficially” that I should stop wearing brown scrubs to work. More than one patient complained to the front desk and said they thought I was naked when I walked into the room. My scrubs aren’t even tight. I'm pretty sure it’s my brown skin that bothers them more than brown scrubs. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was stopped in the grocery store by a stranger, who berated me, quite loudly, for going out in public in my pajamas. I had just gotten off work and was wearing scrubs. FML
Today, I got called into my manager’s office for wearing “leggings.” They weren’t leggings, they were work pants with a straight leg. I said to her that the other girls wear them in the office. She told me, "But they have a slim figure, you're on the pudgier side and it looks bad. No offense.” FML
Today, after my shift at the hospital ended, I happened to look into a full-length mirror. My new scrubs turned out to be see-through. Instead of my undies, everyone got a good look at my cellulite-ridden ass. Fan-fucking-tastic day to wear a thong. FML
Today, I decided not to wear any makeup. I got told 13 times at work that I looked ill. FML
Today, I was once again mistaken for an escaped convict. I live near a women's correctional facility and apparently my nursing scrubs look a lot like their prisoners' uniforms. The cop made me late for work. FML
Today, I was told to rub in my sunscreen because I looked like a ghost. I wasn't wearing any. I'm just that white. FML
Today, I found out that shorts are inappropriate to wear in the office. If it wasn't the staff-wide meeting or my coworker telling me to change, I've been sitting in the back praying it's time to clock out. FML
Today, my boss wanted to talk to me. Nervous, I went to her office. Turns out that my coworkers talk about me behind my back, and my boss is worried about me. Apparently, I lie about my bad knees, and me wearing black leggings is horrible. Most of them wear sweatpants on a daily basis. FML
Today, I got a warning at work for wearing my ear studs. Not only have I worn them the whole time for the last year I was here, I was unaware of this “rule.” I also was just told that the female employees are allowed to wear them, but men are not. “It looks unprofessional.” FML
Today, the district manager visited. Also today, I got called into the office to talk about "personal hygiene". The assistant store manager asked me if I had some kind of medical problem and advised me to shower regularly because my co-workers have been making comments. FML

You might want to check how many addicts/drunks/dementia patients get naked regularly in the hospital. It might be so regular that if they see you out of the corner of their eye, their gut reaction assumes it is someone naked.

Um, Sweetie? Any shade of flesh coloured clothing that matches your skin tone gives that double take of 'why are you walking around naked?' Fawn coloured leggings are the fashion in my area atm so just for that second until you actually look, there's a lot of 'half naked' teenagers all over the place. If your scrubs match your skin tone well enough then you ARE going to give ANY human brain that double take. It's not an issue with your skin, it's the lag between what eyes see and the brain processing the information. The reaction once the brain has processed it? That you can judge the hell out of. Maybe get some fun stickers to add to your scrubs to interrupt the 'illusion' going on in the human brain? This is an 'every skin tone' issue, white, black, brown, green, pink, blue... If your clothing matches your skin tone, the human brain will see 'naked' for that first second. If your manager was running around in scrubs that matched her skin, she'd be getting the exact same complaint.

Who is the brain-dead idiot who invented brown scrubs anyway? Scrubs should never be any color that looks like skin, pee, poop, or blood (take that, Deep Space Nine surgeons!).
