Today, it's the third time my ex has been granted a reduction in his child support payments coinciding with his gold digger getting an expensive gift. The first time it was her 4-carat engagement ring, then it was her breast and butt surgeries, and now a 3-week trip to Hawaii. I can barely afford food for our kids. FML

Today, I was super excited to receive a large inheritance, maybe put it towards a house and a vacation. To my horror, the entire 40k went to my child support arrears. My psycho ex is the one who wanted those three kids, not me. FML
Today, my ex showed up to pick up our kids in her brand new car. Last month child support doubled my amount because of a paperwork error. FML
Today, the father of my children told me he is having gastric bypass surgery, which is 10,000 dollars. He is 9K behind on child support. FML
Today, my ex is doing with his new girl all the things I begged him to do during our relationship. She gets Just Because flowers (he only got me flowers once and complained how expensive they were), trips (he told me he hated traveling), and apparently an engagement ring (he said he didn’t believe in marriage). FML
Today, my ex-wife announced that she's taking me to court for child support. Her kids were just my stepkids and we weren't even married a year, but she apparently has a pretty good lawyer on her side. FML
Today, I found out my ex bought a digital camera, an iPod, and a large flat-screen TV, all purchased with the alimony I'm paying him. FML
Today, my girlfriend broke it off with me when she realized I can no longer treat her to expensive gifts and meals. My ex-wife is bleeding me dry with child support payments, I can no longer afford the lifestyle I used to have. She won’t take me back. Now I’m totally single and broke. FML
Today, my sugar daddy-turned-boyfriend can no longer support my lavish lifestyle and told me to get a job. Ever since he divorced his wife and kids for me, he has to pay a hefty child support and alimony for them. This is way more than I bargained for. Now I can’t break up with him or he’ll think I’m a gold digger. FML
Today, my ex-husband introduced our daughter to her "new mommy". That's the third time this year. FML
Today, my ex started to talk to me again after 3 years. I've been in an amazing relationship for the last 2 years. She let me know she is taking me to court for child support. I didn't even know I had a kid. FML

It’s skirting the law. You need to get his financials and if you can get proof that he paid for all these unnecessary expensive items, take them and check with a lawyer at the free clinic. They give out the advice for free and can either take the case for cheap or pro bono or refer you to one. Also get child support and collections involved and if you can apply for welfare and food support. There are also places through United Way First Call for Help that can help you.

Child support is usually based on income. I'm not understanding how that can happen 3 times. Were you in court? Do you have a lawyer?

you need to collect evidence of all of this and bring it to court. could bring your payments higher than they were to start. he's a piece of shit.

I hear you. My ex likes to get his supoort lowered, then immediately get a better job. Then after I wait the required 6 months to get a new hearing, he quits that job axwerk orvtwo before the new hearing to avoid his supoort being increased. Then right after the hearing we start the cycle again.
