Sincerely ask him why. He may have a great reason. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind if my dog was the best man at my wedding because he means that much to me.

Huge red flag! If the dog is that important to partner, you must love the dog equally. Find a way for the dog to participate or let the relationship go.
