For science
Today, I was making some tea for my colleagues when I accidentally dropped the tea bag into my cup of coffee. I thought, "Why not?" and took a sip. It tasted like a caffeinated botanical disaster, and the whole office got to enjoy me retch for 10 minutes. FML

Coffee is 99% water! Of course the tea is going to flavor the coffee.

After that performance, I'll bet the guys are going to be teabagging you a lot. You sound fun.

This is bogus. Tea won't diffuse into coffee, only into water. There wouldn't be any taste of tea at all. With a headline like For Science, this is severely lacking in scientific observation. And even if there were a taste of tea, you are totally exaggerating your reaction, it couldn't possibly be that bad. You retch for ten minutes when your dog vomits the shit he ate in the park.

I think they might have confused "Coffee" with "Mercury", it's an easy mistake.

Tea is a much more subtle flavour. Coffee is overpowering in comparison. You never see tea flavoured cakes or sweets, because you just wouldn't detect the flavour.
