Do your own research
Today, I tried to open the research paper I've been working on for the past month, only to discover that the entire file is permanently lost and can't be recovered. This is not the first time this has happened to this paper. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, while trying to document another unfair incident, as well as suspected fraud in my toxic work environment, I accidentally replaced months of text in my document with a single period. Cloud backup saved over the actual note I needed. Months of diligence gone and I'll probably continue to be stepped on. FML
Today, I went to turn in a coding project a few days early. After months of working on a code and saving backups, everything is gone or corrupted. I have to start from square one and turn it in less than 48 hours from now. FML
Today, my computer crashed and lost all of its data while I was making a back up. FML
Today, I was writing a huge paper for a class as our last grade. My dog starts scratching himself. He hit the power button on the computer. Nothing was saved. FML
Today, after retyping a 22-page report for work because the orginal had gone missing, i realized I had used a different laptop the first time. I now have 2 copies of the same report, both of which are late. FML
Today, I finally finished my 500 page manuscript and so went out to buy some paper to print it off. I get back home and find out my dad has infected my computer with a virus and the only way to save it was to wipe the hard drive, which he did. That script took me a year and I have no backup. FML
Today, I was busy writing my English final paper and all of a sudden my computer just chose to freeze. I thought Microsoft Word would save it, but alas, 4 pages down the dumpster. Plus my earphones stopped working and I can't afford to buy a new pair. FML
Today, I was trying to show my mother how much detail I'd put into a group project that I had to present tomorrow. I then deleted the project, thinking that I was just removing it from my phone. Everyone's research and my three days of hard work went with it. FML
Today, I was wrapping up a 30+ hour commission when a software bug caused my main layer to delete itself. There doesn't appear to be any way I can restore it. FML
Today, I realized how much I'm on the computer. I tried to "CTRL+Z" on something I wrote down on my paper. FML

Say it with me you idiot. Rule #1 on all important files: MULTIPLE COPIES! I can't stress enough how important that is, you should've learned the first time.

I'll say it with you. SLightly differently. #78 you're an idiot. Rule #1 on all threads; READ THE !!WHOLE!! DAMN THING. S/he MADE seveal copies. Your point is moot, you fail.

Where in the orginal post say they made several copies? All I see is that they lost the file and it's happened to them before. So there for your arguement is now invalid.

Why, back in the olden days, we used pencil & paper to write stuff down. And if we needed a copy, we used carbon paper! Never had to worry about " losing the file", unless the dog ate it!

Well maybe if you had spent more time on the paper and less time on FML it wouldn't have taken you a month to complete.
