Today, I was wrapping up a 30+ hour commission when a software bug caused my main layer to delete itself. There doesn't appear to be any way I can restore it. FML

Today, due to some highly corrupted data that I had nothing to do with and no control over, around 5 years of pixel art I'd made, and spent most of my free time working on, has been permanently deleted, and there is no way to recover it. FML
Today, I went to turn in a coding project a few days early. After months of working on a code and saving backups, everything is gone or corrupted. I have to start from square one and turn it in less than 48 hours from now. FML
Today, my computer crashed and lost all of its data while I was making a back up. FML
Today, I was fixing some photos for a client. I spent 20 minutes trying to Photoshop an unusual black dot out of a picture. Only then did I discover it was a black dot on my computer screen. FML
Today, while trying to document another unfair incident, as well as suspected fraud in my toxic work environment, I accidentally replaced months of text in my document with a single period. Cloud backup saved over the actual note I needed. Months of diligence gone and I'll probably continue to be stepped on. FML
Today, the modeling program I'm required to use for school started inexplicably crashing. Reinstalling doesn't even fix it. The company that owns the software doesn't provide students with tech support, and my teacher just told me I won't pass if I can't fix it. FML
Today, I tried to open the research paper I've been working on for the past month, only to discover that the entire file is permanently lost and can't be recovered. This is not the first time this has happened to this paper. FML

Today, while working the dinner rush at my job, every single computer, credit card machine, and printer froze for an hour and a half. The reason behind this issue was a large wire ripped from the mainframe, the same wire I tripped over 20 seconds before while my boss watched. FML
Today, I was waiting for a software issue to reproduce for around 10 hours while working on other stuff. My manager called to get a status update, so I stopped the monitoring setup for 10 minutes. Guess when the repro happened… FML

What the **** are you talking about man? OP is not a programmer. I'm assuming the software they were using was Photoshop or something like it. They were working on an art / graphic commission when the software deleted the main layer of their work. What makes you think they can fix the FML app?

Nobody knows what that means. Why don’t you drop that trivial BS and put your programming skills to solve an urgent social need: fixing the FML app? I often can’t see the thumbs count on my comments and can’t see if there are any replies. Thanks in advance for fixing this!

Programmer here, it's definitely a design project. I doubt there exists a case in which "caused my main layer to delete itself" makes sense in a programming context.
