Did you smash?
Today, I was making out with a guy in his car, when we decided we needed a minute of fresh air. We stepped out, only to completely lock ourselves out, with our phones and the keys inside. We had to smash a window. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I couldn't get into my car. In an attempt to get in, I broke a window. As I climbed in, the actual owner of the car walked up. Mine was across the street. FML
Today, I locked my keys in my car. After spending 20 minutes on the phone with AAA, and then waiting a half hour, the guy showed up, he stuck his hand in the driver's side window and asked, "You couldn't just reach in?" I forgot I left the window open. FML
Today, I accidentally locked my car and house keys along with my phone in my car. Then I had to break into my own house looking for the spare. Someone called the police and I had to explain that I lived there. I forgot to grab the spare when I went to talk to the police officers I locked the door behind me. FML
Today, I locked myself out of my car while the engine was running. I called roadside assistance, waited 40 minutes, then watched a stranger walk past, point at the unlocked passenger door, and open it for me. FML
Today, I thought it would be romantic to take my girlfriend to the beach. It was raining so we left our shoes and phones in the car so we wouldn't be bothered. Apparently, I left my keys in the car too. The car was locked. FML
Today, I locked my keys in the house. I panicked so hard and immediately started kicking the door, desperate to get my keys. My boyfriend, who I forgot was staying over, woke up and opened the door right as I kicked it, and the door smashed into his face. FML
Today, I locked myself out of my car. While walking home to retrieve the spare, I realized I locked my house keys inside the house this morning. Now I must decide whether to break into my house or car. FML
Today, I locked my keys in my car. After looking for the spare key for hours, we called our insurance company, who then sent a "locksmith" with a wedge and a bar to open my car. All he did was break the driver and passenger doorhandles. My stuff is still inside. FML
Today, I locked my keys in my car. I was late for work so I went to smash the side window with a big rock. The rock bounced off the window and into my face. FML
Today, I locked my keys in the car while the car was running because I got out to get the parking ticket attached to my windshield. FML

At least you smashed

Hey, it's a bit worse for him, considering he's the one whose car window had to be smashed.

In all in, it sounds like you had a smashing good evening.

In all in? Pretty sure the term is "all in all"
Dave_Davington 34
...Yes it is. I've no idea how the **** I managed that.

After you got home, did you smash?

At least you smashed

I'll bet if the phones weren't in there, you wouldn't have smashed the window. I get separation anxiety when I'm not close to my beloved iPhone!

Or, you know, because it's awful hard to call a locksmith without a phone.

you can unlock the car yourself once the window is smashed though? (@ #22)

...That's the point. They couldn't call a locksmith to get into the car because their phones were in it. Therefore, they had to smash the window to unlock it themselves. Obviously, by that point, they did not need a locksmith anymore.

#28 how did YOU reach this 'point'? to me it seems like 22 is not getting this point judging by how they are a responding to a comment that mocks people's attachment to phones and thus states they wouldn't have broken the windows if they had their phones. didn't say anything about calling a locksmith. #22 brought it up. like they were mocking the originals comment for mocking cell phone dependence by saying well it would be hard to call a locksmith without a phone (even if spoken with sarcasm, it still sounds like not needing a locksmith didnt occurr to them. either that or FML can't read the initial comment's sarcasm and it just ends with people being confused. idk. maybe I'm just being dumb though. I wouldn't put it past me. I can be a brick at times. luckily, being a brick has not yet become a full time job for me just yet.... OR has it....? hmm. *shrug*

A minute of fresh air... Was the "smell" that bad?

they call it "getting heated" for a reason. it gets hot, especially in a closed space like a car.

Im very confused as to how you locked yourself out of the car with the keys... im not even joking, i read this three times and counting. I know it says that everything, including themselves, got locked out. Im pretty sure im not hallucinating. Is this a typo that everyone else is ignoring?
CheekyRaccoon 27
Nope, you've somehow read it wrong thrice. Lock ourselves out, with our phone and keys inside.

Everything seems to check out.

Maybe his car is a bit old and so they have a habit of pushing the lock down before leaving the car instead of auto-locking or using a remote?

I'm agreeing with you #6, I read this earlier and it said they'd locked themselves, their phones and the keys out. Now it seems to have been updated to make sense.
manofmerr 27
I myself just reread it, and now it makes perfect sense. But either im not the only crazy one, or this really was edited since being posted. Can't say i ever saw that before.

The only thing that matters at this point is if he thinks it was worth it... If he thinks it was worth it, you might be able to keep him around for quite a while.

You could have just called the police. A buddy of mine locked his keys in his car a few weeks ago and a cop was able to use this weird hook tool to unlock the car.

With what phone? Both phones were also locked in the car.
belatedbday 7
Surly they aren't in the middle of no where and can use a store's phone
species4872 20
Time for an app so the phone will unlock the car.
snazz23 20
The app would be worthless if the phone was also locked in the car, which it was.
