Today, my boss's son is training to take over my job as head translator, after having convinced his dad that he's fluent in Spanish, and that my skills suck. I soon walked in on him using Google Translate on a legal document. My boss refuses to believe me. FML

Really don't see what's wrong with using Google Translate if it's not your first language. You can go ahead and write your job off, you seem like a pretentious ****-gobbler anyways.

Hmmm I give your boss two weeks until he begs for you back. :P

And when he does, tell him you want reinstated with back pay and no loss of benefits or seniority. Oh, and a raise, too.

Or the job is posted because boss an Won't admit he's wrong directly by asking op to take over the position again.

He can't believe you, because he sees him as a ...hero? hijo ?...

Ok, leave him to struggle, his Father will eventually find out. Also, when his Father is in the room, start a coersation with him in Spanish and he will witness himself how much he sucks. That or just seriously leave him to get overwhelmed by the job where he wants to quit.

#20 - That would be the best approach. When fighting fires don't use an eye dropper and a cup of water, use a tidal wave.

That'll only work if his boss knows Spanish or is around witnesses who know Spanish and have the balls to tell the boss the truth.

There are a lot of Gov contract jobs for translation. Hard part is finding the first one willing to get you clearance. Great gigs, great pay and easy to move to the next when the contract ends. Could use this as a kick in the ass to move onto something great. Not just the gov contract stuff. I've been screwed over by my share of employers, as most people who have been in the workforce have. I've always used it to find a better direction. Not always easy. But it did pay off.
