Today, I was turned down from the dream job that I was promised two years ago, once my chemo and radiation therapy was finished. His excuse? He never actually expected me to survive. FML

Today, I started chemo. My immune system is so bad, it keeps attacking organs throughout my body. I just got a job I love that pays well and has insurance for once, but I’m not sure I can keep working to pay for it, due to chemo side-effects and risky conditions of the job. FML
Today, after enduring chemo, radiation treatments and several surgeries in order to beat cancer, being immunocompromised and catching Covid, I haven’t been able to work for years. Despite all that, I still get told I’m lazy and need to "just go get a job" when I try to get social security. FML
Today, I had to quit my dream job, due to an injury I received at work over two months ago not fully healing. Not only do I really need the money, I’ll never find something I love doing so much, or a better group of coworkers. FML
Today, I got turned down for my dream job. Why? Because my ex phoned the company and told them how bad I would be for the job. He phoned me and said, "Now you know how it feels to be turned down." We dated for 2 weeks, 11 years ago. I'm now married and haven't spoken to him since we broke up, so I guess he's been stalking me. FML
Today, I had an offer for a job, and was going to receive the offer letter… only if I would postpone my oncologist appointments. FML
Today, after finally getting a job offer after months of unemployment, I found out that the person who was going to hire me got fired. Which means I'm not getting the job. FML
Today, I got demoted at work and had a pay cut taken, all because I got sick from cancer and haven't recovered well enough to do every task. We are not short staffed. FML
Today, after being diagnosed with breast cancer, enduring months of tortuous chemo, having painful radiation treatments and having had my tubes tied, I realized I’ve become the butt of an incredibly cruel cosmic joke. I got pregnant from the one-night stand I had to celebrate beating cancer. FML
Today, after three interviews, I accepted an offer for my dream job and submitted my notice. The company called me to say they couldn't contact my referees and have now withdrawn the offer. I'm now officially unemployed. FML
Today, I told my boyfriend about how a few years ago I had cancer, and how I underwent radiation therapy. His response? "Did you glow in the dark?" FML

I just don't understand how anyone could vote "You Deserved It" on this one! Please tell me everyone that voted that accidentally pushed it. How could he deserve that?!?! I'm so sorry that happened to you, OP. I agree with everyone saying to get get back at him. That has to be a verbal contract, right? I hope karma gets him, sounds like he's the worst kind of person. Congratulations, OP, that is something to celebrate, so don't let this A hole get you down! You'll find another job, hopefully a better offer and nicer people! I wish you the best!

As a chemo patient and a former Radiation therapist I know how you feel and how hard it is to have the goal you used to fight through snatched away from under you ... However in my dream job I had a boss just like that and your far better off not working anywhere around someone like that. Keep in mind your a winner and survivor. You beat cancer he will never beat being a jerk. Congrats on being healthy again and not giving up. Your going to make a great employee with lots of tenacity and determination.
