Today, the company where I used to work at announced that there would be a staff reduction because of the low income caused by the pandemic. I just quit yesterday in favor of another job. All of my former workmates are getting paid their respective settlements because of this termination, while I'm not. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I quit my job, mainly because I didn't work enough hours and thus, earn enough money. In the past, they said there isn't any other paid work they could provide. They've now added different tasks, more money, and more hours to the position. I'm helping to find a replacement for a job I would otherwise apply to. FML
Today, I finally quit the job that I've been complaining about. Before I could tell my husband, he informed me that he had been laid off, and was thankful we still had my income. FML
Today, the store I work at got shut down and I got let go. Three days ago I got a promotion and a raise. FML
Today, at work, I found out that they are taking all bonus pay away, but giving us an extra $1 an hour due to Covid-19. Last week, they laid off half my department. Those people laid off are making more money on unemployment than I am now. FML
Today, I got fired after three days at my new job. They told me it was because of downsizing. They were still interviewing people and had a help wanted sign in the window. FML
Today, after resigning from my current job, I was let go from the new job I hadn't even started yet. FML
Today, I got a better job offer out of the blue, more pay, less work. I informally accepted and handed my notice as legally required. They rescinded the job offer. I'm now unemployed at the end of hiring season. FML
Today, after quitting my job to take a very attractive position with a competitor, I was told the position was no longer being offered. I'm now on my way to file for unemployment. FML
Today, it was the first day of my new job. It was also the last day of my new job. I got a call immediately after finishing my shift to be told the company has "decided to go in a different direction" and will no longer be needing my services. FML
Today, I got a screenshot from my former supervisor's Instagram that stated, "Finally, I'm rid of these morons at my work." That's how I found out me and other workmates had been laid off. FML

Same thing happened to me, OP, except I didn't quit, they just said I didn't qualify because I was never formally working after my maternity leave... I would have been if they didn't fire me. Also- I took online classes so I wouldn't lose funding because of my pregnancy, but because they were online they didn't count for my degree. The whole school went online right before my baby was born. I could have already graduated but I didn't because of the online courses. I feel for your FML.

Something similar happened to me at an insurance company I worked for. I found a much better job and gave one week's notice. A week after I left, everybody got a bonus.

This happened to a colleague at a place we both worked she found a new job before redundancies were in the works and had to work out her resignation while the rest of us took redundancy. She had the better deal as she had a job and security at the end of the day
