Bad doggo
Today, I spent hours baking a multi-layered, detailed cake from scratch for my mom's birthday. It took two seconds for my dog to devour the cake while I picked up a spoon I dropped on the floor. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I woke up early and spent hours baking and icing a three-tier cake for my friend's eighteenth birthday, which is this evening. I just found out my mother threw it in the compost bin because she's on a diet and it was "tempting" her. FML
Today, I woke up early to bake cinnamon rolls for a party. I came home later to find the whole tray spilled onto the floor, most of the rolls eaten, and my dog sitting happily nearby. FML
Today, I tried my hand at baking homemade individual apple tarts. While taking them out of the oven, I dropped the entire tray on the floor. My dog acted like it was Christmas in August and scarfed at least half of them. FML
Today, I got up at 5 am to bake a surprise birthday cake for my 16-year-old son. I put the cake on the table and went to call my son. "Surprise!" When I came back 30 seconds later, the cake was all gone and the dog was licking his lips. My son won't even believe I made a cake. FML
Today, I baked a cake for when my mum came home. I did everything I needed to do and put it in the oven, set the timer and went to do some things around the house. When my mum came home, she asked why there was a uncooked cake mix sitting in the oven. I forgot to turn the oven on. FML
Today, it's my three month anniversary with my girlfriend and so I decided to bake her a cake from scratch. It took me three hours, a call to my mom, three different recipe books, and half my pantry. On the way to her house, I stopped to pick up flowers and left the cake in the car. It melted. FML
Today, I spent all day baking dog-safe cookies for my pup's birthday. He sniffed them, turned around, and started begging for one of MY processed garbage cookies from a store instead. FML
Today, a coworker left a chocolate cake on the "free food" table in the office. I had a slice. She's just called to ask if she left her grandmother's birthday cake at work. She made it from scratch. Now I'm baking a new cake in the office kitchen. FML
Today, my little Pomeranian dog got onto the kitchen bench by jumping onto the washing basket, the bookcase, and over the window sill, and ate my daughter's birthday cake while I was in the bathroom. FML
Today, it's my birthday and I was very happy. When the moment came to blow the candles, all of the decoration on the cake flew off. It had taken an hour to make and set them on the cake. FML

Oh gosh, that sucks. My dog wouldn't even wait for you to look away though, he would just go for it.

YDI for not training your dog!

Dogs can be trained. Mine doesn't go for our food. I can even "accidently" drop food on the ground and he won't touch it unless I say he can. But if you have a dog like this, you should have put him outside while you were baking.

Just goes to show you can't have your came and eat it too :) I have dogs too and so all of my baking happens at the grocery store!

#63 If my 3 year old knocked a cake off the counter, I'd put them in time-out and tell them that was bad idea, and that they will be no cake for them for dinner or whatever. It's significantly harder to do with dogs, because you can't communicate as well with them, and if not trained well just a nuisance that can be solved. I wouldn't kill it literally. It's a exaggeration. I'd be terribly upset with the little bitch. Honestly, I don't understand why people tolerate dogs that chew up $200 leather shoes, or tear up expensive shit. Either train the dog better, or give it up and stop bitching. Kids and dogs are different. You have different relationships with them. Kids can grow and become your equals and caretakers; dogs are companions and dependents, and never become on a level higher than yourself. You're always the dominant person. You can get rid of a dog legally and easily; you can't rid yourself of a kid.
