She was fine with it, supported me 100%, and it was a huge relief, until she followed up with, “Until you find a husband, then you’ll obviously have to stop all that.” The reason I even told her is because my girlfriend just proposed to me, and we’re engaged. I can't think of any well know lesbian symbols. Colors, maybe, but no symbols. So maybe the mother-in-law didn't recognize it as such either. Or perhaps her son was once her daughter.
