Today, my landlord's control issue got out of control when I got a call telling me I have "too much stuff" and have to move out of the apartment. I sold all my furniture when I moved in and all I currently own is a scratch post, a chair and a pair of curtains. FML

Same thing different taste
Today, I was finally starting to relax after a stressful and expensive move, where I had to give up half my belongings and furniture, as well as my cat. All the stress came rushing back as my new landlord told me that he's selling the building and I've got 30 days to vacate. FML
Today, my boyfriend moved out and took all his things with him. He also took some things that didn't belong to him, namely my rent money. My landlord comes tomorrow. FML
Help yourself
Today, my roommate of a year and good friend of several more decided to move out. When I came home from a long work shift, I found all the cupboards emptied out of everything, including all the new stuff I bought to replace what she was going to take with her. FML
Today, my roommates told me they want me to move out of our apartment. We would have never gotten the apartment without my credit score, and most of the furniture is mine. FML
Today, my roommate was packing up her kitchen stuff as she prepared to move out. Apparently that included the majority of things I bought last week to replace all of her stuff she is taking. FML
Today, my asshole of a roommate finally decided to move out. Not only did he take his belongings with him, he took some of mine as well. Including my dog. FML
Today, my roommate is being evicted. Since we had some very good memories together, I was sad to come home and see all of her stuff gone...and half of my stuff, too. FML
Last laugh
Today, my ex-roommate, who decided to move out when my other roommate and I told her we didn't want a giant dresser for her dogs' clothes and stuff in the dining room, took the door knob out of the door to her former bedroom and threw some of my things in the recycling bin. FML
Today, I'm being evicted from my apartment for not paying rent. My father is the on-site landlord, meaning I now have to move my stuff downstairs into his place, and hear every day how I'm a failure. FML
Coincidence
Today, I was moving to my new apartment. I left some furniture outside as I drove to dump the first load at my new place. When I got back, everything was gone. Apparently, today is the day the donation truck was coming around to take everything we don't need. FML

I'd show him how much stuff you actually have and ask for his suggestion on how you could minimise this further.

What, not even a bed!? OP are you a cat?

Well for starters, OP could bend the landlord over and shove the post up his ass.

Sounds like the landlord just wants OP out and will say whatever he wants as an excuse...

The landlord: just sit on the damn floor!
dodo116 16
Was he in the apartment? If so you should have thrown him out and told him he was taking up too much space.
False_Stupidity 41
Yep, I can see that going down real well and improving the situation for the OP... (that was dripping with sarcasm for those that are still waking up)

we all got the sarcasm without the explanation, 12

I don't blame 12 for explicitly stating it was sarcasm. People on this site tend to completely miss the sarcasm in posts and that results in unnecessary down votes, so when 12 made a note of his sarcasm, most likely to avoid down votes, he got down voted. I don't get it.

If you have to say you're using sarcasm, you're doing it wrong.

Hate to see what his room looks like.
cakefete2 30
Empty, he even took out the carpet because it was making the place to crowded.

No. Just a very sad panda apparently

I bet that's some rough sex.

Yes, that's why one of the only things he owns is a scratching post.

That's a mess! I recommend you leave and take your 3 items with you. He will surely miss your rent…if you paid on time.
spluver0005 17
So you don't even have a bed, yet you have a scratching post? Yeah, the landlord seems pretty unfair, but I think you might wanna get your priorities in order too.
cocacola999 27
I assume OP rented a furnished flat and the landlord does not like extra stuff besides his own.
alr158 18
I'm guessing if you have a scratch post, it means you have a cat & THAT is the landlords real underlying issue. If you don't have a cat, but still feel the need for a scratch post, then, er... OP, I think YOU may be the cause for concern ;)

I also got the impression that the flat was furnished already But... Just because the OP doesn't own "furniture" doesn't mean she doesn't have a bunch of stuff, such as books, clothes, shoes, magazines/newspapers etc.... There's got to be some sort of stuff there that she's not telling us.
phoneaddict13 29
move out! you don't need him OP!
its_bree 10
The apartment was probably already furnished. But you should still be able to bring personal items

I would suggest just living somewhere else, because I can't imagine he is going to change any time soon.
