Today, I told my husband that after fifteen years of marriage, I wanted a divorce. His first question was whether or not he could still go on the family cruise my parents are paying for in May. FML

he at least deserves the cruise... he did put in 15 yrs

Today, my wife filed for divorce after 15 years of being married. Oh, and to rub salt in the wounds, she decided to exclude me from the cruise her parents paid for us to go on. FML F your ex-husband's life!

You plan on when your going to want a divorce after a while...? you must be retarded.

Sound like he wants a divorce, too. Why FML? Because he didn't dissolve into tears?

Because crying about it, talking about it or even being mad about would show that he cared, at all. If after 15 years I told my wife I wanted a divorce... I'd rather hear "I want a divorce, too" then "Can I keep the TV?"

Why would you hear that? She'll be keeping the whole house, its you that will have to beg for a tv. Sorry, but that's just how the system works.

Today, my wife told me she wanted a divorce, then told me I can't go on the family cruise, then bitched on the internet about how all this somehow ****** HER life. I've put up with this woman for 15 years already. FML.

Also: "Family Cruise" implies there might be kids involved in this marriage/cruise. Totally understandable for a man to be concerned about whether he'll be able to enjoy the quality time he was hoping to have with his kids... before you eventually take them away from him.

Absolutely, apparently this guys primary concern is whether he gets to spend time with his kids.

So... you would have preferred if he took it badly?

I think it's more that she at least expected her husband to give a shit. Obviously he isn't invested in the relationship either. I mean, I think if I was divorcing my husband for some reason, I'd at least want him to ask why...Though, before I decided to get a divorce I'd have talked to him about our relationship (and would have hoped he would have talked to me if he was unhappy) so he'd already know why, but in this case, it's fair to say that after 15 years of marriage OP wanted her husband to at least say something along the lines of, that sucks, or show that he cared a little about his family. Instead, he's more focused on getting a free vacation...Which could be one of the issues.
