She loves you enough to have you as her own, so y'all are closer to a real family than most people that are blood related. I feel like she meant it's just a bad time for you to adopt or maybe the money isn't right. I'm sure she didn't mean it like that OP, but sorry either way

I agree on OP's decision too. I think one of the most rewarding things you can do in life is receive the satisfaction of knowing you've helped a child that especially needs it. OP is a great person. :)

That's awful. Is it possible that she was joking? Does she have a bit of a twisted sense of humor? You should consider telling her that it upset you. That way she can clarify her remarks and you won't have this matter eating away at you. Good luck with the adoption!

I was adopted as an infant. I am a happy well adjusted adult and grateful to both my birth mom and my adopted parents for the choices they made. I wouldn't change my family for anything in the world. Good for you for adopting a child that needs a family!!! Don't let other people make you second guess your decision.

That's a really inconsiderate thing to tell you, it must hurt but try to not mind her to much. I think adopting a child is one the best thing someone can do; giving care and love to someone that needs is kind. I'm sure you will be a great adoptive mom OP!

Your mom is kind of an asshole for saying that ( no offense) but what you're doing is really great I could've known you weren't related to your mom even if you didn't say you were adopted because she's a bitch and you're not ( again, no offense )
