Today, at my job as a fourth grade teacher, I realized that most of my students have far nicer and more expensive phones than I can afford. FML

Same thing different taste
Today, as I was yelled at by a middle school teacher in front of 30 6th graders for breaking the rule of "no cell phones in school." Luckily, I escaped being sent to the office after explaining I'm a 21 year old college student doing student teaching observations, not a middle schooler. FML
Today, during one of my first days as a teacher, a student stole my phone. FML
Today, I was giving a lecture to my class I heard a phone go off. Aggravated and exhausted, I asked everyone to turn their phones off. Then the phone rang again. I lost my shit and spent the next half hour calling my students a bunch of "technology whores". Then I realized the phone was mine. FML
Today, I found out that, because I'm a student, the employees I train make more than me. FML
Today, I realized that with all the money I've spent on repairs for my iPhone through the months, I could have bought a phone that doesn't die horribly whenever I so much as give it a mean look. FML
Many such cases
Today, I realized I’m what they call “first world poor.” I own a phone and a laptop paid for with credit, and every time I use them it’s to check my emails to see all my new job application rejections, and to check my bank so I can watch my savings dwindling away. FML
Whatever it is, it's not enough
Today, my second-grade daughter asked her teacher how much money she makes. FML
Today, I purposely set my phone off in class to make it seem like I had friends. FML
Please, apologize
Today, my teacher yelled at me for using my phone in class. I apologized out loud, knowing that it would help me get off easier. She was yelling at somebody else. FML
How to make a sociopath
Today, I went to my job as an aide for first-grade students. I went home with a swollen face after my student punched me because I was, "making the timer go too fast" and he wanted more iPad time. FML

What the **** kind of ****** up country do you live in where the average elementary school teacher only makes $51,000 a year, but the average professional baseball player earns $3.2 million? Which is more important? Which is more influential? My daughter's teacher is one of the most important people in her life right now.

Even if it is a hand-me-down or supposedly for "emergencies only", what the **** does a 9-year-old need an iPhone for? I didn't get my first cell phone until I was 16, and that was a Tracfone while all the cool kids had those Razors that were popular at the time.

Who in the hell gives their 8 year old a phone in the first place? When I was their age, all I had was one of the first gameboys. You know, the ones with the cartridges that that you had to blow in to get them to work

Well that's only because they keep annoying their parents until they get what they want.
