Today, as I was tucking my 5 year old in, I told her, "I love you," and she whispered back, "I love you, too, but not as much as I love my other mom." FML

The parents could be divorced and the dad remarried.

I seem to be missing something. I thought it was quite obvious from the FML that OP is a lesbian, but somehow the comments here do not reflect my assumption.

The real question is, why are you creeped out OP? You should be busy planning what you're going to take from your husband after the divorce.

#15, if that was the case, I don't think OP's user named would be 'CreepedOut'.

Sometimes kids say really strange things, maybe investigate but do not jump to conclusions

and why would she be creeped out about daughter loving another parent more? guess op meant some ghost related stuff

.. Wait what? I think someone has some explaining to do..

I don't feel your pain at all I'm just typing this to make you feel better.

3's comment looks admin edited, but who knows :)

To be fair, children do have a tendency to say things that might seem out of the ordinary. The reason being that they still need more cognitive development. However, I would look into this just to be certain.

She still remembers her mom from her past life.

Reincarnation. Is it weird that I thought the same thing. I think it's the username "CreepedOut" that leads me to believe that OP doesn't think the comment has anything to do with her child's father (as many are assuming) because maybe she is and has been a single mom. Maybe I'm reading too much into this. It's 3 am here. Sorry.

Doesn't have to mean anything. Little kids sometimes say odd things without meaning it. Or she knows a ghost.

Yeah, the other mother has buttons for eyes, and is way nicer! Jokes aside, some context would be nice. Did your ex-husband remarry, or is your current husband cheating on you, or is your child confusing imagination with reality...

And she lives in the wall... Coraline is one of the creepiest yet best children's/YA books I've ever read.

I've heard of imaginary friends, but I it seems unlikely that she would have an imaginary 'mommy'
