Today, after coming home from hanging out with a few friends, my mom told me that I shouldn't hang out with them any more. Why? Because "they are way hotter than I am and I'll never get a boyfriend if I'm always the ugly one in my group." FML

what a terrible thing for a mother to say. I don't know if you will ever read this, but I wouldn't follow up on her advice, it sucks. If they truly are your friends, stick with them. 'hotter' is a subjective term anyway. there might very well be guys out there that don't think it gets any 'hotter' than you, so tell your mom that:P

wow my mother says sone ****** up shit like that too but I just ignore it and keep doing what I want. love is not of the physical, though it is derived from there, attraction based on ethics, morals, beliefs, etc. is far more important than of the physical.

shit. what's more important, your mom telling you that you aren't attractive enought to hang out with your high school friends, or you focusing on what makes you happy? i mean c'mon, not everybody you hang out with in high school will remain your friend afterwards ( or even during) so why give a shit? and besides, lots of less than atractive people have hit the big times..
