Terrorized
Today, I woke up loudly screaming from a "night" terror. I say "night"; I was actually at my desk at work, in the middle of the day, surrounded by dozens of co-workers in their cubicles. FML

Autumn: Leaves and Laughter
When the leaves fall, the laughter rises. Discover autumn stories as crisp as dried leaves!
Today, I was asleep and snored so loud that I woke myself up. I was at work and I am now the laughing stock of the office. FML
Today, I took a nap before work. I had a harrowing nightmare in which I was chased by a murderer and the ghosts of his victims at my job. I then woke up to go to work, where I work the night shift, completely alone. FML
Today, at work, I fell asleep. This is how I discovered that when I'm sleeping, and am scared awake by my boss with an air horn, I yelp louder than a terrier and piss my pants. FML
Today, I yelled out while I was asleep. However, I was sleeping during a very important meeting with customers and my boss. FML
Today, after a sleepless night, I fell asleep at my work desk. When I awoke, I found my co-workers had duct taped me to my chair. I was yelling at them to untape me, when our boss came in, scolded me for fucking about on the job, and left without saying a word to my colleagues. FML
Today, I had terrible nightmares and woke up several times because of them, as well as my roommates having a pen and paper session downstairs. I had to get up at 6:30 a.m. and sit through a whole day of team training at work, barely staying awake. FML
Today, I fell asleep at my desk. It's bad enough that it was for 45 minutes and that I was snoring. What makes it worse? My boss woke me up. FML
Today, after spending 6 hours straight working on a project at school, I decided to call it a night. The instant I set foot out of the lab, the building started screaming. The maintenance guy had set the alarm without telling me. The police had to let me out. FML
Today, after a long day at work, I was ready to wind down for the night. I sat on my bed and turned towards a fluttering on my left. I saw the biggest daddy-longlegs inches from my face, jumped in the other direction, forgetting there was a wall, and hit my head on it. I'm now officially wide awake. FML
Today, I desperately needed to let off some steam at work, so I went outside and screamed obscenities at the top of my lungs, before heading back inside. The police then showed up to investigate complaints of a "raving lunatic" in the area. FML

You could be right, but who knows why OP may've fallen asleep. Feeling unwell, helping someone out or taking care of someone at night...narcolepsy...watching a hot neighbour all night, just breathing in and out, in and out...all understandable reasons. Well, the last one obviously isn't, but you get the gist.

If OP normally suffers from night terrors during the night then I can see falling asleep on the job as a result, kind of out OP's hand if that's the case. Even with treatment there's only so much you can do for night terrors.

I used to get night terrors. I was taking sleeping pills for a while to battle them. Then I went to my sleep doctor and he got me to take a program for getting rid of trauma based night terrors (like the kind you get from ptsd or big changes in your life). Now they're almost completely gone!

I don't knoe , OP. That place that you described as "work" sounded like a nightmare in it of itself. It was a nightmare within a nightmare. A nightception, if you will.

It's possible OP could have Insomnia. In that case, I couldn't really blame them.

Maybe he lives in Japan. In Japan, sleeping on the job is acceptable as it is a sign of exhaustion from hard work.

Time to prioritize and go to sleep at a more decent time. Be lucky you didn't lose your job.

A more decent time than at work while on the clock? No such thing! If you're good at something, never do it for free.

Sometimes it is more easily said than done. We don't know why OP is so tired, but if he gets night terrors, it could be hard to get to sleep at night. Also, there are other circumstances - maybe he was taking care of someone, maybe he wasn't feeling well, maybe he has insomnia. I don't think he should be judged unless we know.

Well, that's embarrassing.
