OK Stephanie, whatever

Today, a co-worker superior to me called me "Stephanie" yet again. My name is Ashley. I politely informed her that my name is Ashley and subtly pointed to my work ID. Later, I get called into my supervisor's office. I got written up for correcting someone of higher status than me. FML

She's just looking for a power trip. I'd tell your boss the situation. Such a silly reason to get a write up. Its not your fault she can't read.

maybe shes butt ugly and jealous of you. and obviously a little dumb. oh well move on... its not like u did anythin bad.. call her Gertrude next time u see her..

I agree with 17 just screw around with their stuff I did it once then they fired "johny"

Higher status? I'm sorry, I wasn't aware the United States had accepted monarchy.

I know how you feel. While living in student halls at Uni the security staff called me Amy for a whole year. I felt to nervous to correct them so I answered to the name. When they found out my actual name is Ali they told me off for not telling them. You can't win.

Some people just don't like being corrected even if they said something stupid.

wtf Ashley your name supposed to be Stephanie ?

Refuse to sign the write up. Someone higher up than her will have to investigate and see that she is misusing her power. It's wrong for her to punish you because she was embarrassed for being wrong.

Grunt rule #1: the officer is always right. Grunt rule #2: Never, EVER correct the officer.
