OK Stephanie, whatever

Today, a co-worker superior to me called me "Stephanie" yet again. My name is Ashley. I politely informed her that my name is Ashley and subtly pointed to my work ID. Later, I get called into my supervisor's office. I got written up for correcting someone of higher status than me. FML

She's just looking for a power trip. I'd tell your boss the situation. Such a silly reason to get a write up. Its not your fault she can't read.

maybe shes butt ugly and jealous of you. and obviously a little dumb. oh well move on... its not like u did anythin bad.. call her Gertrude next time u see her..

WOW! If you can get a better job do it. As if the higher upper is so insecure that they actually ratted you out for you correcting your own name.

I don't even have two words for you, I have two letters. H-R There's no way they would support a write up for correcting someone for calling you the wrong name. Unless they didn't write it up that way and if they didn't you don't have to sign it. Then you can file a complaint against whomever wrote you up or that supervisor. HR has to put an entry in that person's file by law. This is assuming you work in the US and that you are in a corporate job that has an HR department. Otherwise, yeah the new job search should commence asap.

that sucks stephanie, hah jk just anoyin d: politely do that again a few times and they will unpolitley fire u then no 1 will get ur name wrong anymore. ^^

If you work for a corporation, there are usually employee lines you can call.

That's just absolutely stupid beyond all reason. You were simply stating that your name was not Stephanie, and it was Ashley. It's not wrong to do so. Just because somebody doesn't know something or gets it wrong, doesn't necessarily mean they're stupid or thing of the like. It happens all the time - they just have to learn that it doesn't mean anything bad. The supervisor and the co-worker need a serious reality check.

I had a girlfriend named Ashley who moved to California :(
