Today, I rang British Gas to cancel my boiler cover, as I'm totally and utterly skint. I told her the reason was I was getting divorced, moving house, losing my job, and had no income at all. She was very sympathetic, and said, "How would you like to pay your £37 cancellation fee?" FML

I'll translate for you, #2. Clearly you don't understand English. I'll try Ebonics. Today, I holla'd at my gas company to cancel my plan, cuz I'm broke as ****. I told her my baby momma was leavin' me, bouncing up outta my crib, I ain't gettin no mo' chedda from my job and I got nothin' in the bank. She was all sad for me and shit, and she said, "Yo, how you wanna pay yo damn cancellation fee?" FML.

I understand your plight. I never use my computer anymore because its junk so I went to cancel my DSL. They said my contract isn't up till March. I'd basically have to pay it off to get rid of it. Might as well keep it and pay the same right?! Geez : (

(By the way, I didn't know what boiler cover meant. But i figured from the context, it was some sort of bill. That's because, unlike Americans, British people realize that there is life outside of their country. I hate being American because I have to be grouped together with the moronic people who can't even understand a simple FML. Then instead of attempting to figure it out, they just bitch about how everyone needs to conform to their slang because the idea of stretching their minds to contemplating something more than their little world would mean doing something productive and intelligent. God Bless the USA and the dumb *****.

I'm with you darkjoy, except it took me until recently to realize how stupid the rest of Americans were. I always figured the stupid ones were really rare, but extremely vocal.... then I moved, and realized that I had lived a really sheltered life, in an area with a high concentration of intelligent people, and only a handful of true idiots. Now I've got to learn to handle the idiots better than I used to. It's really hard to ignore them when they're in every direction.

Yes, thank you. You would think us Americans would appreciate more cultural input, but I guess not since most seem too lazy to look up terms and bitch about it instead. I'm embarrassed people were saying OP deserved it for using localized words no one understood and demanding better translations, especially since the site was created by three people from France and made an Italian and English (not American) version after their French site. I love the fact that so many international people use this site and to pick up nifty words like skint and learn what a boiler cover is. I also hope the same on a previous post, Boatkicker, that most Americans who do understand just didn't feel the need to comment, but I'm seeing more posts like ours which is refreshing.
