Today, I bought the girl I like concert tickets for our favorite artist, who is usually never in our town, for her birthday. She said, “No thanks, I have to work that day.” She works Monday-Friday. The concert is on Saturday. When I mentioned this, she asked me, “So, what did you think of the Super Bowl halftime show?” FML
I agree, your life sucks 433

Sadl Find another date. She isn't that into you. Find someone who will appreciate the gesture.

Sorry mate. The sooner you face reality, the quicker you will be through the heartache. As Courtney Ryan said: "There is a grace and a dignity in walking away". Good luck.

She’s making up BS excuses (and lying horribly about it to boot) instead of telling you she isn’t interested. I never understood people who do that shit. They think by lying and “sparing their feelings” they’re actually sparing feelings when in reality they lack conflict resolution and communication skills. I’m sorry you made an investment and she didn’t appreciate it. Next time, don’t make investments (like buying expensive gifts) to someone who isn’t your S/O, that’s just gonna lead to disappointment if they don’t reciprocate.

Imagine what happens if instead she is "clear and direct," as men say they want. BOB: Wanna go to a concert this Saturday? PAM: No, not with you. I don't like you. Will Bob appreciate her so-called clarity? Absolutely not. He's much more likely to go tell the world that Pam was terrible and all he did was ask her out.
