Today, a guy I’ve been dating for a while surprised me with tickets to see my favorite singer, Lady Gaga, for my birthday. I was about to tell him I can’t see him anymore because I fell for someone else at work, and it wouldn’t be fair to string him along. FML

You will definitely make things worse if you take the tickets. You could offer to buy them from him if you want to go that bad. But to go without breaking up will definitely be stringing him along.

Convince him that the tickets cost too much and you can't accept them. Pay him for both. If you can not afford to give him the money, then end the relationship and buy tickets yourself later.
