you put the lives of yourself, your passenger if you had one, the people in the car behind you, the people in the car behind them, any pedestrians all in danger for a squirrel! ydi.
knowing and doing are totally different though. I know that, but I always have that instinct to stop whenever anything runs in front of me. never full blow "slamming on my breaks" but my foot does fly towards the brake pedal until I can rationalize... I can't blame her!
#8 y would u b sorry for the driver who rear ended him? thats his fault that he was on the phone or drives like crap normally
I need more info, OP. Was the squirrel using the crosswalk?
I still say you came out on top. For a brief moment, you displayed a trait so very few humans truly have: compassion. In that split second, you were able to show what kind of person you would be when it counts.
This would be an example of the typical pricks out there who would cowardly save themselves in times of stress.

Hmmm... that's why you don't "slam on your brakes" for small rodents:(
You're supposed to keep driving unless it's a animal that can cause an accident, like a deer. Otherwise, surprise surprise, the abruptent stop can cause an even bigger accident than hitting a squirrel. I'm 16 and I know this.
