Today, while driving my new car, a squirrel ran in front of me so I slammed on my brakes. The person behind me didn't notice and rear-ended me. The squirrel got hit by a car going the opposite direction. FML

You're supposed to keep driving unless it's a animal that can cause an accident, like a deer. Otherwise, surprise surprise, the abruptent stop can cause an even bigger accident than hitting a squirrel. I'm 16 and I know this.

In some places, like here in Canada op would. Slamming on your brakes without valid reason counts as dangerous driving and puts you at fault. Here you are not to brake for anything under 10 kg.

in alaska we have signs to warn us of moose, deer, porcupine, ect and we're supposed to yield to them. just things they think can do a lot of damage. nobody cares about the other stuff.

28- Killing anything would be murder, but legally, hitting a dog is more of an offence than hitting a squirrel.

Lol #28, a dog is the responsibility of the owner, if it's on the road, and gets hit, the owner of the dog can have to pay for the cars damages :P Oh, and murder if of the same species.

this is the dumbest thing I have ever hear so u would hit a dog bc it walked in the street maybe he was a police dog and saw someone getting attacked so he ran in the street and u hit it then how would u feel that someone is getting beat a dog is dead and a family lost it's dog wow

for some people, like me, we happen to care about living things besides people, regardless of size or stupidity. atleast the squirrel died quickly :)
