Today, I ignored my cat's incessant meowing, and pushed him away every time he wanted to be petted. The next time I walked downstairs I found him dead. FML

Today, my overly-attached 14-year-old cat wanted attention while I was in a heated Skype argument with my girlfriend. Worked up from the fight, I raised my voice and said, "Not now, go away!" He ran to his little bed, had a heart attack and died. I was a complete dick to my cat in his last moments. FML

Today, despite me not liking cats, which my wife knew, she got a cat anyway. Her cat went for a walk outside and was hit by a car. I rushed outside to help the cat but found she was already dead, and the culprit had driven away. When my wife found out that her cat was dead, she thought I'd killed her. FML

Today, my cat was incessantly meowing trying to get me to wake up and feed him. Because it was 6 a.m., and I'd hardly slept at all last night, my brain decided that the best solution to get him to shut up would be to hug him. The result was a normally docile and lazy cat giving me a nasty scratch next to my left eye. FML

Today, I was woken up by my cat, who normally doesn't bother me in the morning, meowing desperately and trying to get me to wake up. Fearing that something was very wrong, I jumped out of bed. He gestured for me to follow him, so I did. I followed him all the way to the kitchen, where he proceeded to puke. FML

When my cat was dying, she just kept meowing. They didn't neglect to feed or water the cat; it was probably just old and, sadly, in pain like my cat. It was natural to meow and want attention. It was hoping it wouldn't hurt anymore. This person wasn't a monster; I ignore my cat and dogs sometime. It just happens

This is Not a YDI, because he didn't know that the cat was dying. He thought it just wanted attention. I bet if your cat was meowing all the time you guys wouldn't think that he was dying either.

i pictured a cat writing a teeny suicide note cause he was unloved. obviously this wasn't the case but this is why you don't ignore your pets. they can't acually tell you what's wrong but they don't get super insistent about your attention for no reason.

Everyone who says u deserve it is wrong. I mean i'm not saying you should'nt pet your cat.. You should. But really animals can get annoying and sometimes u just dont wanna deal with it... It gets annoying!! How where u supposed to kno ur cat was going to die? I bet if you did know, you would pet her.
