(-1)I'm only replying to #1 so people will actually READ this post. Otherwise people will continue posting things along the lines of, "ummm its called SPELL CHECK" and other similar comments. Clearly the majority of Fmylife followers are extremely unintelligent and unable to realize that the original poster most likely left out the "A" and typed "eduction," therefore the "red squiggly line" did not appear under the misspelled word.
(+1)What? You're replying to the first comment because you want yours to be seen and read?
How original.
(0)At least they know you're edumacated!
(0)No, I'm replying to the first comment so that people will see that EDUCTION is a valid typo for EDUCATION.
(0)edgumacatshin?
(+2)ALWAYS have someone, or more than one person look things like that over for corrections and whatnot.
And thats exactly why...
(0)maybe they did... and were just as illiterate...
although, you probably failed english and therefore no one would want you anyway
i guess that's a comfort?
(+4)An edumacation is a good thing.
(0)Counterpoint -> Edjoocachun : we don't need no.
(0)Niceeeeee xD

(+1)Well good sir you know how to use a spell checker but know little of Grammar. Perhaps one who lives in a glass house should not throw stones?
(-2)#8: His comment may have had an overabundance of unnecessary aggression but his grammar was, frankly, much better than yours.
#18 - On 09/22/2009 at 2:39pm by null
(0)Please good sir explain.
(0)spell check is taking over...people are too lazy to even TEACH grammar because they THINK spell check will cover for them. Truth is, it can't tell the difference between a prepositional phrase and a pronoun. So just teach yourself grammar.
(0)Okay, fine, "much" was an exaggeration. Neither of your posts had bad grammar.
#4 only really broke one rule, and that was using a sentence fragment. However, it was done for effect, and personally I always forgive sentence fragments when done for effect, and purposefully practice that myself. The "make a living having dicks stab into your vagina" is awkward sentence structure at best, but there is technically no incorrect grammar. Consider "make a living washing cars" and "having a friend help you move" and look at the structure of the verbs and objects there. It's only the combination of them that makes it sound weird.
Your post, #8, capitalizes the word "grammar" for no apparent reason. I could also nitpick a minor detail: when speaking to a person, the phrase addressing them should technically be separated by commas. "Well, good sir, you..." would have been better form. However, again, under normal circumstances I wouldn't nitpick that because using commas directly influences how the sentence would be read aloud, and therefore again is used for effect.
But overall you had one thing I would classify as a mistake, and you each had one that might get you a mark off on a University essay but in reality are pretty acceptable. I apologize for coming off too harshly, but if you wanted to criticize #4, grammar was definitely the wrong thing to attack.

(0)congratulations...you've out bested my english teachers in teaching grammar. and I didn't mean to reply to it. My computer has all these glitches with this site, randomly posting my comment as a reply is one of them.
(0)Null:
First off, let me say that you're awesome. Don't be offended by anything in this comment, as I mean it all in good fun.
Second, you made some mistakes as well. I only noticed two, but I will list them for you. "...and purposefully practice that myself" is not an independent clause. Thus, it should be separated with a comma from the rest of your sentence. Also, you shouldn't start a sentence, much less a paragraph, with the word "but". I do the latter myself all the time, and I think it's acceptable by most standards.
Anyway, feel free to correct any of my grammar, spelling, or syntax. I just thought you'd appreciate my help. Again, don't take any of it personally. You rock, no matter what.
(0)Damn! Haha, you got me. Starting a sentence with "but" is an example of a grammar "mistake" that I commit on purpose (even Tolkien did it!), but touché on the comma separating the subordinate clause. I completely forgot about that rule.
And (

(0)Okay, that's weird. My comment got cut off (I think I might have put a symbol or two that it accidentally treated as HTML), and now I forget what it was intended to say. Something about purposefully starting my paragraph with "and" and something about you being awesome. Oh well.
(0)Allow me to take a quick estimate of how many job offers/interviews that resume got you... hold on, I might need a calculator for this... (five, square root of pi, carry the one) ...zero?

(0)Twas the devil's foul work.
(+1)but... HOW?? edicartion is an easy word to spell!!!
(+1)how on earth did you misspell that? seriously, I'm actually curious, there are no variations of the word that look right.

(0)Sorry but how could you misspell education without it being painfully obvious?
Edjucation?
I guess that at least looks like it COULD be right, but didn't the wiggly red line come up underneath?
(0)here we go again...read my comment...#53
(0)You need an edjumacation.
(0)Probably because you don't have one.
(0) #15 jerk PA is awsome. anyway don't be suprised if you don't get hired.
(0)I'm really hoping she just switched some letters like "edcuation" or "educatoin" from typing too fast. That still doesn't excuse the lack of using spell check though.
(0)you're fuckin retarded.
(-6)Too many negative votes, comment buried. Show the comment.
I was surprised, until I read you were a woman. It's normal, don't worry.
(+2)You're so funny!
Wow, all us girls are drooling over your clever wit and charm.

YDI dumbass.

(+1)we don't need no edukation
(0) wow, good job :) you are sure to get the job now!
(0)i have a similar story. I wanted to get a job REALLY badly and on my first working papers I spelt my name wrong because I was nervous thinking about whether or not I was going to get the job. i got the job...but my name tag says Mitcheall (my name is michael)
(0)How can anyone put anything but YDI? Seriously? It's called spell check, it comes in handy when doing your resume that MIGHT get you an interview, that is if you didn't spell education wrong.
(0)im gonna love to say this over and over...read my comment...#53
(0)Everyone keeps telling the OP to use spell check, and I have to agree with all of them. However, people today have become too dependent on spell/grammar check. As a teacher, this is one of my biggest pet peeves! After you use spell check, you need to check it manually, as well. You could also get someone else to take a look at it, too. SPELL CHECK WILL NOT ALWAYS CATCH EVERY MISTAKE!!! For example, you are typing too fast and you write, "He went too the store." Spell check will find nothing wrong with this sentence. Not to mention how many people mix up "your" and "you're." Spell check will skip those, too. Stop being lazy and PROOFREAD after using spell check!
(0)Have you ever used the "Eye halve a spelling chequer..." poem in class? I think it's a great example.
#65 - On 09/22/2009 at 6:02pm by null
(0)#62 thank you!!! *clap, clap*
(0)#65-we actually needed to bring something into class that expressed our opinions on spell check in the 7th grade. guess what I brought in, lol.
(0)null - No, I've never used it. I actually have to admit I never knew something like that existed. I need to track it down, because it sounds useful, and would be great to use in my classroom. Thanks!
(0)No excuse, these days spell check picks up those mistakes, duplicate words and grammar mistakes. No excuse. It definitely would over picked up a misspelling of education. Ignoring the red squiggley line is just one more FAIL. Why use spell check if you're going to ifnore it anyway?
(0)#70 - lol, nice. Yeah, it's been around a while.
#75 - It's nothing special, just a fun little example. Glad to let you know of it, and it should be pretty easy to find.
#90 - As #87 pointed out, 'eduction' is a valid word that could easily be a typo for 'education'. Education is usually a heading in your average resume, so for it to be misspelled there would offer no grammatical context with which the computer could determine that it is a mistake.
#99 - On 09/24/2009 at 2:32am by null
(0)how'd you spell it?
(0)YDI nubcaek
(0)lmao! wow....
(0)Education, saluté my fellow Nazi. It's sad when it probably says: "Education?" on the resume. However, you're an idiot, good Füeher.
#74 - On 09/22/2009 at 7:06pm by Jincos
(0)good thing u didnt put anything under that
(0)Woow.... How do you misspell education?
YDI
(0)Spell check is your friend.
(0)Wow, delfinofrank, got some pent-up anger issues there?
I voted FYL. Although how DO you spell education wrong? Unless you were typing too fast, and mixed up the letter placement, it doesn't seem possible to make that mistake. Maybe the OP did use spell check, but it skipped over that one? It doesn't always catch every angle one. Or maybe OP wrote the resume on Wordpad, which doesn't have spell check, unless you manually enable it. Either way, that sucks. It IS kind of a YDI though.
(0)YOU ARE MY HERO!!!!!!
(0)Ever heard of proof read? That's public e-d-u-c-a-t-i-o-n at it's finest!
(0)hahahahaha!
#84 - On 09/23/2009 at 2:51am by Qup
(0)To #83
Actually, but is acceptable in most term. I am very sure because I read so many books, saw so many fragments, and saw so many sentences that starts with and, but, and or. Even though they broke some rules, the book did got published. So forget what you learned in high school because you CAN break writing/grammar rules in the real world. Then again, feel free to correct me wrong.
(0)i put Engish for languages spoken on my resume :/ got hired still though
(0)...aaaaand we have another woman who makes our gender look bad by being dumber than a box of rocks.
(+1)Ha ha! Oh well, I wrote "strong attention to to detail" on mine. Only realised after I mailed out about 50.
I'm convinced no-one reads them anyway.
