Suspicious behavior

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I found out that driving five miles an hour under the posted speed limit is "suspicious" and cause for a field sobriety test, breathalyzer, having your car searched and being handcuffed on the side of the road. FML

Sounds like the cop doesn't know the law very well (surprise surprise). Any evidence would have been tossed...he's a moron.

@#2: What? There are plenty of reasons to be driving under the speed limit: - it's dark - bad weather - you are unfamiliar with the territory/trying to find a place you've never been - you don't know the speed limit - you're car is impaired

so much slower? please. does that mean going 5 mph OVER isn't dangerous?

No hes right. Going under the speed limit pisses people off and makes them go around you, which is more dangerous than going the speed limit or going over by a few.

Well people that are drunk or high do go under the speedlimit, so he had cause

As much as I hate it when people purposefully drive under the speed limit (especially 5 miles under), it's not illegal unless posted as such. Usually on certain highways, the minimum speed is about 20 mph below the speed limit. 5mph below is nothing. You shouldn't have been given a sobriety test and had your car searched without reasonable cause. Also wondering if you were DWB, like #1 said. If so, then goddamn, that sucks.

Oh crap...that really sucks, I'm sorry. Well, at least you weren't actually drunk...were you? That would suck even worse. Watch, I bet there are gonna be a bunch of comments now saying you should "punch that a**hole" or "SUE THEM!!!1" -.-

Suing isnt the answer all the time. Its an inconvenience, not the end of the world.

How do you know they were on the highway? Your ignorance amazes me.

You know there are 4 lane roads right?

the only illegal reason you would be driving slow is if you were really high, in which case a breathalyzer would do nothing. sigh.

Maybe you should do us all a favor and quit driving like a moron. If you've got to drive that slow then you clearly don't know how to drive and you should get off the ******* road. Unless there is some type of inclement weather situation, the posted speed limit is much slower than is really necessary, so people can't try to sue town/city governments if they get into an accident. #9: Yeah I bet he was in the left lane too, ugh that shit is so whack! PEOPLE. If you are not confident with your driving skills: DON'T DRIVE. Idiot...
