(0)Yeah, that sucks. I hate how people are so dishonest. It really annoys me when people steal stuff. (I assume your ipod was stolen from your car...)
(-9)Too many negative votes, comment buried. Show the comment.
dude, who the fuck cares. there is such a thing called insurence. that's what it is there for. and YDI for doing volunteer work. you fucking idiot, just let that lazy shit take care of himself!!! fuck, i hate stupid naieve people!!!
#19 - On 08/05/2009 at 2:29pm by RR05
(0)dude.....seriously....firstly in no way is volunteer work stupid, secondly you most likely will not be able to build lifetime friendships with this kind of attitude you are portraying in that comment and thirdly the word is naive there is an umlaut above the i but I am not sure which button I need to hit to get that.
(+1)#19 you might want to run a spell check before you call someone stupid.
And maybe when you get a little older and have to pay for your own insurance you will learn that some people can only afford minimum insurance which doesn't cover theft.
(0)he also spelled insurance wrong. hahaha
(0)quite liking the way you spelt naïve and insurance
(-2)@70 drop dead u racist prick.
#72 - On 08/05/2009 at 6:19pm by lyssaboo
(0)bitch.
(0)wow dude what the fuck is that for
first volunteer work is not stupid when people need help its only right to help them its that kinda of fucked up shit thats gonna leave you alone for the rest of your fucked up life
and second insurance doesnt always cover broken windows and stolen property do some fuckin research first
(0)#70 wat the fucking hell, racist!
(-1)Call #70 racist all you want but I'm sorry to say its probably true.
(0)YOU SUCK . COME MAN !
(0)I agree, it may sound racist, but it's statistically accurate. I watch the local news every night and there are new robberies and break-ins reported every single time. I honestly can't recall when the last time I saw a photo or heard a description of the suspect and it wasn't of an African American. Maybe the news is racist for only reporting crimes with black suspects? Seriously, what are you supposed to say? Should we be ignorant and downplay it?
(0)wow you call him stupid yet you cant even spell.
(0)#70 u need to shut ur mouth u racist ass low life
(0)why would they smash your back window if the ipod is generally put in the front also the radio...
(0)#90: That's not what I see. I mostly see old, "white" guys. Though I don't watch the news that often. And I don't see many crimes. And I seem to end up seeing the parts about homocide.
(0)i could tell he wanted something out of that volunteer work he did, because he use the words "out of the goodness of my heart" and he said "i didn't get paid'
(0)yea im not giving ur ipod back wats the code a forget it ill restore it haha stealing stuff is fun especially when its ur ipod
(0)#19. all I can say is that you are like a hardcore douche bag.
(0)this is a prefect example of why I'm not a nice person. nice peeople have shitty things happen to them.
(0)well yeah, how can you expect to get paid for volenteering?! selfish asshole.
(0)damn..that sucks
#2 - On 08/05/2009 at 2:03pm by freber120
(0)Dude that sucks hardcore. You should get the coworker to pay for the window at least.
(+1)... Well I don't really think it's the co-workers fault.
(+1)Just goes to show you no good deed goes unpunished. FYL indeed.
(0)word
(0)wooow. FYL. :/ you should sue the garage for not keepiing your car safe
(0)I was robbed too here recently. I am a single mother and had just bought a lot of new things a few months back with my hard earned tax return... and someone broke in and took everything. Right beside the office.
(0)Wow, that's awful. What kind of job was it?
(+1)Save money and buy something besides an iPod. Those things are insanely overpriced.
I got an 8 gig microSD card for my phone that was just 15 bucks and it's practically no different from any other mp3 player. As long as you have a phone with a 3.5mm headphone jack and all.
(0)And if you only want your phone's battery to last a few hours. Mp3 players on phones eat up the battery, at least on mine it does. Just buy an mp3 player, and that way you can use your phone as a phone, and your mp3 player as an mp3 player.
(0)I haven't tried maxing out my phone's battery life with just music, but I'm sure it's more than just a few hours. Just get a phone with a decent battery life or a couple battery replacements you can switch off with. Still cheaper.
(0)$400 for rear window replacement? Don't have insurance?
(0)my front windshield was broken and i just payed the $300 instead of submitting it for my insurance company because of the ridiculous increase i would have had to pay on my premium. filing an insurance claim could possibly end up costing the OP more? maybe i'm not right, but its a possibility
(0)This would depend on the policy, some policies won't cover theft or damage to your car. I had an insurance policy that would only cover liability, in other words damage to someone else's car if I hit them.
(0)Most insurance deductibles are at least $500 (mine's $1,000) and many policies don't include theft of personal items. The OP might be able to get the iPod covered, if he has homeowner's or renter's insurance (which would typically cover theft of a personal item, even if it was in the car at the time).
(0)did you leave your ipod out for everyone to see??? if so YDI big time... be smart
(+1)I'm surprised your employers would allow you to come in after you had already quit.
(+1)I didn't make it past "out of the goodness of my heart" before hitting the YDI button.
(0)agreed. your entire case is that something bad happened to you, even though you were doibng something nice. The fact that you are even mentioning that it was "out of the goodness of your heart" proves that you had some ulterior motive, whether it was getting your job back, getting some sort of reward from your coworker, or a spirtiual reward (i.e. Karma). Either that, or you are incredably pretentious, and believe that doing something good for somebody else is this huge burden on you, and makes you an amazing person. Was it a good deed? Yes, but you don't have t omake it out to be bigger than it is. I am sorry that your car was broken into, and that your ipod was stolen, but you do deserve it for not only being self serving, but for leaving out valuable things in plain view in your unattended car, in a garage, for several hours.
(0)OR maybe it was to make the point that she was doing something without ulterior motives via exaggeration? How does that warrant her getting a YDI?
(0)If it was at a garage then you should sue.
#16 - On 08/05/2009 at 2:23pm by fegd
(0)Fuck your life indeed.
(0)indeeedy
(0)NO WAY! my car got broken into 4 days ago, no joke, and they stole my ipod! people these days damn
(0)if you left the iPod or even change visible then ydi. during the garage is almost as dumb as trying to make the coworker pay though people.... garages always have signs saying they're not responsible and to leave nothing visible in a car. from the sounds of things the person doesn't buy insurance either which is dumb as that'd cover stuff stolen from the car and all.
(0)FYL for having to deal with this when you're helping a friend...but YDI for leaving your iPod in the car, especially if it was visible. Never, ever leave your iPod in the car.
(0)Sounds like you live in Richmond or the 757. Your life does suck.
#22 - On 08/05/2009 at 2:43pm by Snws
(0)The username alone makes this an awesome post.
(0)YDI for being good-hearted in a cruel world to people who don't deserve it.
(0)YDI for leaving an iPhone in ur car.
(0)*iPod
(0)wait, did your car get broken into? it wasnt very clear.
(0)no, the ipod spawned legs, kicked out the window, and ran away...
(0)Haha, I really did laugh out loud. Thanks for that!
(0)YDI for leaving your IPod in the open in an unattended vehicle... really what did you think was going to happen?
(0)Only cost me $140 to fix my back window. You need to find another glass place. Even if I didn't get the deal it only would've been $165.
(0)So basically, "today I was a nice person and did something good for someone else. FML"?
(0)And got their car broken into because of it.
(0)Did you even read it?
(0)ok FYL but you should understand that it doesn't really have anything to do with you going back to work to help an ex coworker. it could haven happened anywhere. So don't feel bad for being a nice person. Good karma will follow you. On the other hand, I think you'll be more careful from now on not to leave any valuable thing visible inside your car.
(0)YDI for doing something "out of the goodness of your heart".
(0)if he did have insurance, the insurance would cost more than the damage.
(0)This is like the first legitimate FUCK YOUR LIFE i have read in a while.
(0)Hopefully, your friend will split it with you -- Or even buy you a new IPod as a thanks for helping out. Is it a good friend?
Remember -- A friend will help you to move. A GOOD friend will help you to move a body.
(0)haha i loved that quote. How true :)
(0)YDI for having goodness in your heart.
(0)YDI for leaving your ipod in your car. Take valuables with you!
(0)Wait, did you have a towel window BEFORE or after the person stole your iPod from your car? Because that really makes a difference. First of all, I clicked YDI just because you said "Out of the goodness of my heart." It just annoys me when people say that, and do you think Mother Teresa ever once said that in her life? I seriously doubt it. Stop trying to get attention for nice things, do nice things because you want to help someone. Second, if you're not working there and you're covering someone's shift, you wouldn't get paid by the job, so you should've asked your ex-coworker for pay. Whether or not someone broke your window to get to your iPod, YDI for even leaving it visible.
#48 - On 08/05/2009 at 3:47pm by Shlizabeth
(0)You're not working, so you have no excuse for not using your time more wisely. How long does it take to lock an iPod in the glove box?
And how long would it have taken to word this more clearly?!? You went to help a FORMER co-worker at your FORMER place of work... why do you make us ASSUME your ipod was stolen during this time?!?!?
(0)And I thought my day was shitty! FYL.
(0)lMAO
#55 - On 08/05/2009 at 4:05pm by person1000003
(0)hopefully such a thing as karma does exist?
(0)I just spent only $200 to get my windshield replaced. It shouldn't be anywhere near $400 for the rear window. Are they really charging you $200 extra for the heating element?
(0)FYL. I don't think you deserve it because you kept your iPod in your car where it was probably visible. While it was clearly not wise, and in retrospect, you probably would have done differently, I don't think you DESERVE to get jacked because of it. It was a mistake that hopefully you'll learn from.
you dont HAVE to buy a new ipod...and i wouldnt pay the garage if they cant keep my car safe
#60 - On 08/05/2009 at 4:46pm by slamdnkindrummer
(0)You HAVE to buy a new iPod?
'-__-
Are you 13?
#62 - On 08/05/2009 at 4:50pm by ichwillkeinengel
(0)Just comes to show ya, that only bad comes out of favors that weren't needed in the first place.
(0)good for you
(0)Yeah, sometimes being nice has an extreme price... Nine out of ten times at your expense.
(0)I KNOW!! I am going to buy something that's extremely valuable AND popular and leave it in my car!! YEAAAH!!! I'd be a genius!!
Stop leaving crap you care about vehicles, you silly, silly people!!
YDI !!!!!!
(0)...You HAVE to buy a new iPod? Wow, I hadn't heard about the new life-prolonging ones... sucks that you just can't get by without one.
(0)So I'm assuming your car got broken into? What? This FML is badly written....
#68 - On 08/05/2009 at 5:51pm by paper_flowers
(0)That sucks but you kinda deserve it because I'm assuming you left your ipod in plain sight, unless someone said "I'm gonna break into a random car and hopefully it'll have an ipod in it!" I always put my ipod in the glove compartment or under a towel or something. So most likely YDI
(+1)YDI for leaving your iPod in your car in plain sight.
(0)Why do you need a new Ipod?
(0)YO

(0)you should not have left your ipod in your car
(0)No good deed goes unpunished.
(0)I usually never leave my iPod unattended. It's usually in my pocket, or somewhere generally close to me if I'm out of the house (like in a bag or something). I don't say YDI because... no one really deserves to have their car broken into.
FYL because you did something good (although you made it seem like it was some sort of hassle since you used the phrase, "Out of the goodness of my heart" which kind of irks me), and were rewarded with negativeness. That sucks.
Like many other people have said already, "No good deed goes unpunished."
(0)ydi for leaving your iPod in the car.
(0)dont get a ipod get a zune way cheeper
#84 - On 08/05/2009 at 9:28pm by mumafiedmustangs
(0)What language are you speaking...a what? A Zune? Do they even still make those shitty things? Next you are going to be telling people to buy Commodore 64s to replace their broken laptops.
The problem here, folks, with all your helpful nuggets about iPod alternatives is that if your entire music library is in iTunes and purchased legally (um, cough, shhhhhhh) - you can't load the music on to other devices. At least not without significant effort and a few "utilities."
(0)So, do you want a metal or a chest to pin it on? You did the right thing helping a coworker. Just don't hold this over their head.
(0)oooh, 2 true FMLs in a row. i had to read this twice though to understand it haha. that's terrible though, i'm one of those people that is always paranoid about stuff like that, and i couldn't survive without my ipod. and i definitely could not afford to pay that much! -$400 + -$200 (approximately) = dirt poor.
(0)U don't have to buy a new iPod. Get an mp3 till u can afford a iPod.
#89 - On 08/05/2009 at 11:52pm by KK_320
(0)OP, out of the goodness of your heart, give me a fucking break. You lost any good will as soon as you typed that phrase. If you have to spell it out, its B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T!
(0)I sure hope that co-worker was HOT !!!
(0)THIS SAME SHIT happened to me!!! I was at church, they busted my window and stole my FUCKIGN iPod. With that being said, God Bless Them! LOL!
#95 - On 08/06/2009 at 3:01am by UrFlyyness
(0)Last year, I had my iPod Classic stolen from my car outside a Walgreens, even though I hid it in the armrest and locked the doors. I've realized that I deserved it, and so since then, the only thing I keep in my car is a pen and pad of paper! Especially now since I bought a GPS, I've realized NEVER to leave it in the car! So, yes, you deserve it and it sucks but no one's to blame but yourself.
#99 - On 08/06/2009 at 12:25pm by DIMEFFBF
(0)ydi cause you are rather full of yourself. "out of the goodness of my heart"????
(+1)See now if you had a ZUNE, you'd have a GREAT mp3 player that won't break as easily, has no stories in the news of overheating and or exploding, won't get stolen and you could have saved SOOO much moneyy and sadness.
(0)Nice try Gates, nice try.
#109 - On 01/09/2010 at 11:53am by slushpuppy123
(+1)No good deed goes unpunished.
(0)You should be a dick more often. maybe the guy that waves change at homeless people could give you a few pointers. = )
(0)Huh? sorry if i'm being stupid and missing the obvious but how are these all linked..?
#107 - On 08/17/2009 at 6:49am by Dazzleness
(0)YDI for a terribly formulated FML.
(0)Ouch. No good deed goes unpunished! :)
