Man or woman?

Today, I broke up with the girl I'd been dating for two months because she started smoking. This is a deal breaker for me. I just found out from her friend that she started smoking for the sole purpose of getting me to break it off and now plans to quit. FML

You got OWNED!! Then again, clearly she's a jackass if she's willing to threaten her (and your) health like that.

#1 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:04am by lizzzie

At least you broke it off before she did?

#9 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:12am by Duckasaurus

You should have stayed together and her plan would have totally backfired. Perfect

#54 - On 09/06/2009 at 12:43pm by jackalope104

F her life, i doubt she'll be able to quit smoking just like that

#72 - On 09/06/2009 at 1:45pm by AlexZB

You're lucky, actually. Anyone who's too stupid and wimpy to break it off by SMOKING of all things isn't worth your time anyways. So she wanted to break it off with you... why didn't she just say "Hey, it's not working out, I'm breaking up with you" instead of STARTING AN ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCE. FHL

#91 - On 09/06/2009 at 3:31pm by birds

Of course she should be able to just quit. Most likely she only smoked when she was around him and probably for only a few days or weeks at the most if the sole purpose of her smoking was getting him to leave her.

#94 - On 09/06/2009 at 4:10pm by Puolukka

i agree with everyone in this reply column.

except the spammer.

FHL! I hope she gets addicted.

whatever. she's a jerk. or....you are...?

#2 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:05am by hscx1017

I can't decide whether this is funny or sad.

I'm leaning towards funny though. Go find someone better.

#3 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:05am by AeryFairy

She sounds like a ditz...good thing you got rid of her.

#4 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:06am by funnyduck0

Hard-nose.

#5 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:07am by mercyFML

Shit, she could've just broken up with you

#6 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:08am by reapfml

She could of, but obviously she isn't that intelligent.
Smoking's bad enough, but doing it just so your boyfriend breaks up with you... really?
Today's generation worries me. Even though I'm part of it. -.-

sorry but you deserve it for not being more undertsanding, so what if she smokes? if you actually liked her and weren't a judgemental prat you wouldn't care, and would be able to see past it.

Seriously if she had to resort to this to get rid of you anyway, then majorly fherlife

and now you're judging me? honestly if he genuinely liked her he couldve overlooked it, I'm a strict vegan and I think eating meat is a disgusting habit, yet my partner eats steak regularly, why? because I'm not silly enough to think his choices affect how I feel about him

#21 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:37am by posampo

Too many negative votes, comment buried. Show the comment.

Firstly yes of course it has an impact on me. I can smell it on him and his breath when he comes near me or kisses me, it also means I find eating at the same meal as him fairly difficult as the sight of it makes me feel nauseous and physically sick.

Secondly dont just type "Kthxbi" as a way to skip the conversation just because you know your point was silly and unjustified.

#32 - On 09/06/2009 at 11:17am by posampo

The OP is attracted to whatever he is attracted to, but in this case smoking is just a turn-off. It's not standards or anything, it just turns him off. I mean everyone is turned off by something, and I think we got that after the FMLs about what people say during sex or propose, even though everyone else thought it was funny.

#34 - On 09/06/2009 at 11:18am by the_stereotype

Smoking, unless VERY occasionally, = biggest turnoff ever

#60 - On 09/06/2009 at 1:03pm by ireply_w_lyrics

Not to mention the fact that he has his own health to consider - secondhand smoke can give you cancer and other health problems just like if you smoked yourself, and he might not have been willing to subject his body to that.

#69 - On 09/06/2009 at 1:36pm by palmtrees

I bet posampo smokes and supports smoking.

#70 - On 09/06/2009 at 1:36pm by TheLetterZero

That wasn't a lyric o.O

#71 - On 09/06/2009 at 1:45pm by drummer_dude

actually I don't, what I do support is people not buying into propaganda about "the dangers of second hand smoke" (which hasnt actually been proven in an independant, non-coporate study), and liking people for who they are while not judging on one small fragment of their personality.. like smoking

on the same basis you could break up with someone for the ammonia in their hair-dye or the fumes from their big car.
I understand that he doesnt like smoking, but dont act a sanctimonious ass and break up with her, then bitch about it on the internet when you find out you got played.

#76 - On 09/06/2009 at 2:02pm by posampo

Smoking may be a deal-breaker for him, but apparently his entire existence was a deal-breaker for HER.

#78 - On 09/06/2009 at 2:14pm by justme001

Propaganda about the dangers of secondhand smoke? Hate to break it to you, honey, but it's not exactly an unproven theory. Here's some reading you might find interesting:

http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=ArticleURL&_udi=B6T12-4WWG380-3&_user=10&_rdoc=1&_fmt=&_orig=search&_sort=d&_docanchor=&view=c&_acct=C000050221&_version=1&_urlVersion=0&_userid=10&md5=8021da3199d9b532d1ca8740d4becba4

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19684191?ordinalpos=4&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum

Both are scientific articles from well-respected medical journals. The abstract of the second concludes with, "Non-smokers need to be protected from the harmful effects of secondhand smoke."

#79 - On 09/06/2009 at 2:20pm by palmtrees

Haha you've got it so wrong. Obviously EVERY girl should want to date a guy who will dump her the second she does something he doesn't approve of. It's perfectly normal nowadays you know? I do it with all my partners...they start watching the wrong TV Show and buying Chicken flavour chips instead of Salt and Vinegar and they are so out of my life. Fuck opposites attracting.

#85 - On 09/06/2009 at 2:52pm by singtomeeureka

posampo, you've completely misunderstood.

The OP doesn't like smokers, that's him. Apparently, he told this to his girlfriend. KNOWING THIS, she started smoking INTENTIONALLY to make him break it off. He dated someone who didn't smoke, and told her he didn't like smoking. There is nothing wrong with breaking it off if your partner does something they KNOW you radically disapprove of. If he hooked up with her while she was doing it (such as your veganism and your partner's meat-eating), then yes you would be in the right. However, that is not the case. She started it knowing he didn't like it, and did it because he didn't like it. He has done nothing wrong.

Kind of like...
If I disapproved of beer-drinking, and I hooked up with a dry partner, and at some point let them know I disapproved of it. If they started drinking after that, and I mean literally drinking, not just a sip, then I have every right to end it with them simply because they KNEW I didn't like it and did it anyway, meaning they disregarded how I felt (or, in OP's case, she intentionally wanted to piss him off and have him end it).
If I disapproved of beer-drinking, but hooked up with someone who did, then I would NOT have the right to end it for that, because I hooked up with them KNOWING they drank, despite my own feelings about it.
See what I'm saying?

(FYI - No I don't disapprove of beer-drinking, I was just using it as an example)

#106 - On 09/06/2009 at 5:23pm by DameGreyWulf

does him eating meat effect your health?

#118 - On 09/06/2009 at 7:09pm by NewLight8421

posampo is just dumb.

she got owned.

#129 - On 09/06/2009 at 9:27pm by Bobwayne17

the one problem i have with your statement is that smoking is not a "small fragment of one's personality." It has nothing at all to do with personality. It is an action that one makes a conscious decision to engage in and while a person has a right to do whatever they want, no one is compelled to put up with all the decisions their significant other decides to make.

#137 - On 09/06/2009 at 11:49pm by honeyishrnkdakid

I don't date people who smoke, its gross and I don't want to live with the smoke and ashes in the house, none the less kissing an ashtray every day. eck! I think when it comes to such things as smoking or drinking and drugs, its something people have full right to be judgmental about, because it affects alot of things. My friend's gf smokes and they can barely pay bills, i can judge her because shes wasting money on cigarettes instead of doing something responsible.

#155 - On 09/08/2009 at 12:04pm by primogen18

Please, you wouldn't want to be with a girl that idiotic anyway.

#8 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:12am by barlessprison

Dude you totally nailed that one haha. How can someone smoke actual CIGARETTES and not like a good fuck and a good pole dance every other night?

#84 - On 09/06/2009 at 2:49pm by singtomeeureka

pole dance... wtf im not even going to point out how much of a retard you sound like, you most likely wont even understand if i did

#99 - On 09/06/2009 at 4:57pm by Mikey_Mayhem

I'm sorry if there's been a misunderstanding. The word 'pole' is a slang word for penis. Therefore his comment about moving from smoking to pole is basically (at least from what I understood) trying to say that girls who smoke are likely to get their clothes off and fuck next (hence liking PENIS). I was then sarcastically pointing out that obviously, anyone who smokes values sex a bit too much and possibly is a pole dancer/stripper/prostitute/loose woman? If I have misunderstood anything about his comment I would love to be enlightened.

#105 - On 09/06/2009 at 5:13pm by singtomeeureka

so because someone likes sex they are obviously a pole dancer? yupp, as i thought, not much goin on in the smarts department

#114 - On 09/06/2009 at 6:33pm by Mikey_Mayhem

ugh, actually, nevermind im just being a douche and taking my anger out on the interwebs, sorry bout that, and by the way, all your other comments are totally awesome, its bullshit how he dumped her over something like smoking, i mean my dad absolutely despises smoking but my mum does it and hes okay with that caus hes willing to sacrifice for her

#115 - On 09/06/2009 at 6:41pm by Mikey_Mayhem

Well no. I was obviously exaggerating to make a point. No, I do not think that someone who values sex a lot or loves sex is a pole dancer. Sex is good and I worded that wrong. That's okay. I'm not nice over the internet. Yeah I think you're right. And I don't think smoking should be associated with anything. Like half the people on here are going on about how she's an 'idiot' for smoking and how she's so 'selfish' and lalalala. Should be more like your parents.

#117 - On 09/06/2009 at 7:04pm by singtomeeureka

YDI for going out with someone you apparently don't really like at all and dumping them over a life choice which you should be more ready to accept if you really love a person and isn't any of your business anyway

#11 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:15am by desuuuuu

He's not marrying her! The OP never even mentioned love. And really? Smoking isn't a LIFE choice, especially since the OP's gf only started it to break up with the OP. It wasn't really all that life altering.

#36 - On 09/06/2009 at 11:20am by the_stereotype

Why go out with someone if you don't love them? It's pretty retarded.
And you chose to smoke or you don't. If someone does and you don't want to you can't exactly fault them for it.
The fact she started it just to get rid of him is kind of irrelevant in that respect, even though that does make her a massive bitch and a coward.

#52 - On 09/06/2009 at 12:32pm by desuuuuu

Uh, no. I don't think that most people date because they LOVE the person. The way I understand it, you date a person when you're interested in finding out more about them on a more intimate level. You can fall in love after that, definitely, but two months isn't a really long time. Saying that it's retarded for someone to date a person who they're not in love with after two months is a little ridiculous.

And I can understand OP leaving the girl for smoking. Smoking doesn't just affect her--if they ended up spending a lot of time together, he'd had to worry about secondhand smoke. There are other physical turn-offs with smoking, too. You can fault someone for it if you want to. Like you said, a person chooses whether or not he/she smokes. It's a bad choice over which they (usually) have total control. OP didn't do anything wrong, in my opinion.

#62 - On 09/06/2009 at 1:04pm by Pandasaur

It's not really judging anyone. It's the same as breaking up with someone because they said that they don't want to have kids. It affects both parties, here. Again, that's my opinion.

And most people date TO fall in love with them, not because they're already in love, like #62 said.

#66 - On 09/06/2009 at 1:25pm by the_stereotype

You are an asshole. You sound like a pretty controlling guy and you obviously didn't like this girl that much considering this was your only reason for breaking up with her. I don't understand how this is really an FML on either of your parts. You got rid of the "terrible smoker" and she no longer has to deal with your pretentious holier-than-thou faggotry. I do think it's pretty funny that someone is willing to do something so extreme just to get rid of you, though. You must be REALLY unbearable.

#25 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:50am by wienerwagon

If she started smoking to get him to break up with her, he must have told her he really despises smoking beforehand. It's not controlling to expect someone to have some common standards like not doing something to ruin their own bodily organs.

#49 - On 09/06/2009 at 12:24pm by Xolani

They were dating two months. Nothing's for sure at that point. I'd definitely break up with a guy I've been dating for just a couple months if he just up and started smoking. It's a disgusting habit and it shows me he doesn't care about his health or mine.

#26 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:51am by Bullshet

THIS.

#166 - On 10/31/2009 at 8:41am by hvitfeldtska

Who says you have to be in love with EVERY SINGLE person that you date? They'd only been together two months, maybe he didn't know her well enough to accept her in spite of disgusting habits. Unless I loved the guy I was dating (in which case I would do anything in my power to get him to quit), I would break up wtih him for smoking.

This girl is a complete idiot if she's going to risk her health like that just to end a relationship instead of breaking up with you like a normal person. Her life could be completely fucked if she can't quit, which is entirely possible. I feel bad for her, to be honest. =/

#27 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:51am by redblueviolet

Don't worry, in 10 years when she's still smoking because she was already addicted you can laugh at her. She's spending thousands of dollars a year on cigarettes, and killing herself, all because she wanted to break up with you in a jack ass way.

#28 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:53am by Green12324

You must have been an awful boyfriend if she was willing to compromise her health in order to break things off with you...

#55 - On 09/06/2009 at 12:49pm by MadeOfAwesome

I have to say, she sounds like kind of a dumbass. Why wouldn't she just break up with you instead of having you do it? Depending on how much she was smoking, there's a good chance she won't be able to quit either. Take it from me, I've tried just "quitting" a bunch of times. For a long time I just smoked socially and could go weeks without them, but once I was legally allowed to buy them it spiraled into a daily addiction. So you can look forward to her not being able to finish up her "plan" LMAO

Wow..how old are you and your girl? 16? There's no excuse to be this petty and stupid. "Smoking is a deal breaker for me"...I can tell you're going to end up being one of those "hopeless romantics" who spend the next 20 years trying to find the perfect girl but has no luck....in all reality, you're just an extremely high maintenance and picky losers who finds flaws in everything. Good luck with that.

#57 - On 09/06/2009 at 12:52pm by DrewBoy

No, I completly understand where the OP is coming from. My parents smoke and the scent gets into all my expensive clothes (I buy everything myself). There are times when I feel so sick just from being around the cigarette smoke during family functions (when it's hard to escape). Smoking is a serious health problem, and it's not fair for non-smokers to have to suffer around it. It's embarrassing to smell like smoke, and it sucks to get sick from it. You're petty for putting others health under your selfish needs. Smoking kills, and it will never be cool. Btw, who the fuck sits in traffic for an hour???? Do you live in a huge city, because the longest I have ever sat in traffic for in 15 minutes tops and I've been driving for a while. Also, last time I checked people are dying as fast from car pollution that from smoking, It kills 1 out of 2 people. I don't think it makes him a sapless romantic just because he is concerned for his health.

2 . Why are you talking to her friend? Is her friend better friends with you than your ex, since she spoiled her clever plot? Stop talking to her friend.

3. WIN BACK THE DRAGON GIRL. She needs you now that she found out her friend is a walking talking Brutus. Take up smoking, and become an awesome dragon couple that protect gold and treasure while puffing Luckys like there is no tomorrow

4. (And on the serious note) Stop beeing a judgemental prick that cant see past small and personal hedonistic habits or else te next one you capture will find the next deal breaker to break the deal.

It would be fucking hilarious if she went out for a smoke break at work in an alley and ended up getting raped.

#75 - On 09/06/2009 at 2:02pm by midwestjerk

Wow, you are a fucking asshole. First of all, smoking is not that big of a deal, I don't know why everyone here acts like if you smoke you're the devil. Secondly, rape is NEVER funny. NEVER. And it is far more disgusting to WISH RAPE on someone than smoking will ever be.

#148 - On 09/07/2009 at 11:38am by Hallelujahrip

Rape is hilarious if the person is question is a bad person -- and someone who takes up smoking to force a person to break up with them instead of just calling the relationship off themselves is a bad person.

#150 - On 09/07/2009 at 1:38pm by midwestjerk

...did you really just say that?

#159 - On 09/10/2009 at 10:23pm by JukeboxBunny

awwwhh,
she's not evenn worthh it
you'll get over her,
and ha, she's the one who's gonna damage her health.

#77 - On 09/06/2009 at 2:03pm by LALALALagirrl

Too bad u broke up. Sounds like u deserved each other.

#80 - On 09/06/2009 at 2:36pm by FSBull

The jokes on her. She's probably already addicted, and quitting smoking is MUCH harder than people think.

Although I do have to wonder what would make her go to such an extreme to get rid of you.

All I can say is: Girlfriend of 2 months, I bow down to you. Dude seriously, how ridiculous can you get haha? I would pull a far worse 'prank' if I found out I had ever wasted my time with anyone for TWO WHOLE MONTHS who would happily break up with me because I started smoking. What a shallow, pedantic, closed minded twat, you definitely got what you deserved. This is the 21st century. I wish you luck with finding your perfect girl.

#83 - On 09/06/2009 at 2:46pm by singtomeeureka

You make it sound like finding a girl who doesn't smoke is as impossible as finding a perfect girl. And I would never date a guy who smokes because I don't want to risk getting lung cancer and having my clothes and house stink of smoke. I don't think it's "shallow" to have standards like that.

#89 - On 09/06/2009 at 3:14pm by iwadasn

Wow, really?

Shit, I'd dump someone if they started smoking. It's a disgusting habit and I don't need my clothes, car, or home to smell like ass.

As for your note of it being the 21st century - you bet it is. We know now that smoking does all kinds of terrible things to your body, so why would you be stupid enough to start the habit?

#90 - On 09/06/2009 at 3:25pm by midwestjerk

Okay so let's make up a situation here. You are in love with a perfect girl. She is beautiful, talented, smart, everything you want. She's going through a stressful period in her life. Her mother just died. She starts smoking. You go up to her and say 'sorry babe, house smells like ass because of you, better if we just break it off, noone can love a smoker'. Damn, hope we meet some day sweetie, you sound like my type ;)

You don't want to risk getting lung cancer? Haha...oh dear...I really wonder at what people like you do every night. Sit at home and drink mineral water? I'm guessing you don't live in France or anywhere that is similar to France culturally. I highly recommend you don't come here. I think half of us are revolting, disgusting smoking bastards who are just LOOKING for chicks like you to give lung cancer to (because you're so shallow).

#101 - On 09/06/2009 at 5:04pm by singtomeeureka

I don't think you realize how much of an ignorant, naive, cretinous sacrum you sound like.

They're childern, they were dating for two months. The first three - four months are like a buffer period where you decide if you wanna stay with a person, they don't really count towards anything. They weren't in love, she wasn't the MOST PERFEECT GIRL IN THE WORLD, who was smart beautiful and talented. She was a girl, they were dating, he didn't like smoking, she knew that. Therefore, she was rude for smoking KNOWING (not being ignorant like you faggot) that he didnt like it and did it anyway. With her disregard for his feelings is reason alone to break up witrh a girl after two months. Doesn't even matter she picked up a disgusting habit.

oh, did i mention you're a faggot?

Fgot

#110 - On 09/06/2009 at 6:15pm by TheHeroOfTime

Wat iz a childern? Furthermore, how the fuck do you know they're children? And I would think the first couple of months ARE important, especially since there are plenty of people who enjoy the "thrill" of a new relationship, only to break it off a bit later when they get bored.

I wouldn't date anyone who smokes, either, since it makes me sick...eyes water, coughing, feeling like I can't breathe.

#113 - On 09/06/2009 at 6:29pm by waterynuggets

You need to come up with a better word than faggot.

#121 - On 09/06/2009 at 7:16pm by singtomeeureka

to 101 - You're damn right I'd break up with the girl if she was weak enough to turn to smoking for a crutch. I don't need someone that pathetic in my life.

#142 - On 09/07/2009 at 3:01am by midwestjerk

thats pretty dumb. i mean, why does she need to start smoking, even on her own? she could have gotten the point across but pulling just one out in front of you. now shes addicted for no reason.

#86 - On 09/06/2009 at 2:55pm by bodneyy

"now she's addicted for no reason"??? Did she tell you that? Or are you just making a baseless assumption? I'll go with the latter.

#122 - On 09/06/2009 at 7:20pm by eighthchord

okay, he's not being a control freak for dropping a girl who started smoking. There are ton of reasons to have the standard of no smoking in a relationship. there are plenty of guys id like to get with, but can't because I am half allergic to the damn stuff. He's not the only one who doesn't want that shit around. I'da dropped her ass too.

#88 - On 09/06/2009 at 3:10pm by wheredthenamesgo

Wow... People who read FML's are mean! Just because she wanted to break up with him, it doesn't necessarily follow that he was a shitty boyfriend.

#92 - On 09/06/2009 at 3:56pm by 80sFrountChick

Passive aggressive to the max!

#93 - On 09/06/2009 at 4:05pm by drybamboo

Agree with #93. This is more typical female passive-aggressive behavior. She was looking for an easy way out of that relationship. She was too gutless to just break it off. She didn't want to deal with the guilt so she used his aversion to smoking as a "Get Out of Jail Free" card.

#126 - On 09/06/2009 at 8:32pm by jonny2x4

And what is the deal with all this harassment and persecution to smokers? Are we being crucified because every time we lit a cigarette we kill someone? Are we assassins? Some non-smokers sure are treating us like that.
Including you, OP. You didn't like her just as she was. Why should she wanna be with you? If the choice to smoke is more important to you than her, then you don't deserve her.
Let's hope someone else doesn't UNDERVALUE you for nonsense like that.

(sorry for grammar, non-english speaker)

#95 - On 09/06/2009 at 4:23pm by paulafelixf0

F*ck off you pretentious sh*t, if that's your deal breaker, imagine the flaws she found in you

#96 - On 09/06/2009 at 4:32pm by Macthenyfe

Woahh. Good thing you got out of that one. What sane person starts smoking to get there boyfriend to break up with them...? But, really how is this an fml :|

Their*

#111 - On 09/06/2009 at 6:17pm by TheHeroOfTime

Dude, you got served so bad I think I need to light up, I'm in shock. On the other hand, my boyfriend of one year who I'm engaged to may just dump me because smoking is such a revolting habit. Didn't think of that.

#102 - On 09/06/2009 at 5:06pm by singtomeeureka

I have a feeling if a girl held this standard and the guy did this, everyone would be "ZOMG!!!11!! I can't believe he did that!!!!!11!!1"

But no, you're downing him.

Jeez, it's fine for people to smoke, but it's not a choice I want to make. I would rather my fiance not do it, but I wouldn't leave him for it. Guys, they more than likely had no deep connection at TWO MONTHS! He has all right not to not want his gf to smoke, and he did warn her, she blatantly did it to get him to leave her (to presumably make HIM the bad guy). And before you call me sexist, I am a girl. I hate the things my gender does sometimes. It was not fair for her to do that. She should get the nerve to break up with him, not make him do it. That's just my two cents worth.

#107 - On 09/06/2009 at 5:33pm by CheshireHalli

Shes not gonna be able 2 quit =P

#112 - On 09/06/2009 at 6:20pm by ReecesPieces

Seriously, what is with all the children on this board WISHING and HOPING this girl will get lung cancer or die or burn in hell because she had a few cigs a day to keep the obviously unbearable-to-be-around OP away? I guess I should wish all alcoholics get liver cirrhosis or all heroin shooters get HIV, that certainly sounds appropriate and mature to me! Every one of you all has bad habits that others find disgusting, get off your high horse. And for the nerds who are saying "oh well you'll get the last laugh when she won't be able to stop", you are the worst and need to grow up. It's actually not that hard to quit smoking cold-turkey, even as a moderate smoker (10 cigs a day); I would know.
And yes, I am aware smoking is a danger to one's health. No sh*t, that's why I quit.

#119 - On 09/06/2009 at 7:10pm by eighthchord

Thank you! I wish the smokers would stop ragging on him about not wanting a smoker gf.

#123 - On 09/06/2009 at 7:24pm by CheshireHalli

#135 - On 09/06/2009 at 11:23pm by Crickets

Thank you!!! :D

#127 - On 09/06/2009 at 8:47pm by Put2on8lookinboy

She sounds really immature anyway, so if she has to start smoking just to break up with you, I think that you're better off without her.

#130 - On 09/06/2009 at 9:35pm by LyricalChaos

I would agree with you. I do not like to date smokers.

#132 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:18pm by ClumsyJason

fuck the giros life for feeling like she needed to start smoking for you to leave her alone

#133 - On 09/06/2009 at 10:35pm by che_williams

I hope she gets addicted lol

#134 - On 09/06/2009 at 11:21pm by Crickets

As a woman I say she is trifling. She needs to woman up and tell you to your face she doesn't want to be with you anymore. This is just as bad as the dumb sh*t guys do to get the girl to break it off, like cheat or just start ignoring her and her calls.
If you're grown up enough to be in a relationship, then you should be grown up enough to directly end the relationship in a mature and respectful manner.
FYL OP but you dodged a bullet, clearly she still has a juvenile mentality.
(unless you're psycho-crazy fatal attractionist and so out of fear for her safety she orchestrated things in such a way that you broke up with her)

#136 - On 09/06/2009 at 11:44pm by honeyishrnkdakid

LOL F her life actually. She won't be able to quit due to the crave of nicotine.

#138 - On 09/07/2009 at 12:08am by 2Chances2Fail

YDI for trying to control your girlfriend so much you think you have a right to dictate what risks she takes with her own lungs. It's none of your business if she smokes, try to be a little understanding of how hard itis to quit and what stresses can make a person turn to smoking. But, no, you'd rather judge her to the point of dumping her if she doesn't share your own health paranoia. Grow up.

#139 - On 09/07/2009 at 1:09am by Discord21

You'll have the last laugh when you look in the obituary down the road to see that she died after a long fight with lung cancer. Let's see her quit - one of the hardest habits to break apparently.

#140 - On 09/07/2009 at 1:11am by PJB4466

YDI for being so easy to manipulate.

#141 - On 09/07/2009 at 2:48am by apocalocyntosis

hah well, if she was that much of a coward anyway,
then forget her ;)

#143 - On 09/07/2009 at 4:39am by liparotex2

Aw. It's so hard nowadays to find anyone who doesn't smoke.
Seems like everyone over the age of fifteen does, despite the way it fcks up your health.

Good luck, OP, and good job for sticking to your resolutions.

#144 - On 09/07/2009 at 4:52am by faeriegrrl

Now she's gonna get addicted and die.
Dumb choice on her part.

#145 - On 09/07/2009 at 6:52am by Chronotron

YDI for being such a stuck up little bitch about smoking. people have a choice, respect that.

#146 - On 09/07/2009 at 7:23am by Brey1013

Dear #146,
I agree. People have the choice of being STUPID. People also have the choice of dumping someone they find stupid, YOU should respect that.

#151 - On 09/07/2009 at 2:39pm by PhoebeGC

if she is so immature that she can't speak openly with her boyfriend about her feelings and resort to copying a Seinfeld episode by taking up smoking, then you're better off without her. Plus, she may find out that quitting smoking isn't as easy as she thinks. that's pathetic.

#147 - On 09/07/2009 at 9:17am by Qup

OH GAWDZ GUYZ HE DUSNT LIKE PPL WHO SMOKE???????!!!

It's such a sin for someone to be turned off by a smelly, dirty habit like smoking. The OP really is a dick for having a preference like not wanting to be with someone who smokes. For the people saying "people have a choice to smoke" you're totally right, and obviously the OP shouldn't have a choice to not be with a smoker. Because that would just make him like, a nazi or something, you know?

#149 - On 09/07/2009 at 12:46pm by Acornlauren

Your fault for being a bitch?

#152 - On 09/07/2009 at 3:53pm by xXMILKYCHUNKSXx

what a foul gross slut. hope shes dies. she couldnt just say, im breaking up with u :D. ild break up with some1 if they starting smoking/doing drugs or what not. hopefully she cant quit and dies from lung cancer :D

#153 - On 09/07/2009 at 10:47pm by THysios

haha that's weird
i had been dating my gf for 2 months, we just broke up and she smoked

although, smoking isn't a big thing for me, seeing as im a smoker myself

#154 - On 09/07/2009 at 11:00pm by FXCKMYLIFE

I don't date people who smoke, to me it's gross and I don't want to live with the smoke and ashes in the house, none the less kissing someone who smokes. For those who can do it, good for you. I think when it comes to such things as smoking or drinking and drugs, its something people have full right to be judgmental about, because it affects alot of things. My friend's gf smokes and they can barely pay bills, i can judge her because shes wasting money on cigarettes instead of doing something responsible. Smoking isn't something "you should just look through", if you don't want to live with it, then you shouldn't have to. It's not a necessity for anyone to smoke. I could like someone all I want, but smoking is a big turn off, and it would be a deal breaker for me. I'm not being over judgmental, just a preference.

#156 - On 09/08/2009 at 12:12pm by primogen18

what a bitchy friend

#157 - On 09/08/2009 at 10:34pm by golfmanreddy

#158 - On 09/10/2009 at 2:50am by SingingalotFYE

Wow she's dumb. Couldn't just dump you herself? Lame.

#160 - On 09/11/2009 at 6:46pm by FoundManyLemons

i hope she cant quit. cause that'll teach her a lesson.

#161 - On 09/12/2009 at 1:53pm by gangstapebbles89

maybe she wanted to get rid of you for being so narrow minded. :] hah.

#162 - On 09/14/2009 at 2:26pm by LittleMissMarshy

Really? I don't know, smoking's not really a deal breaker for me... fat people. Now that's a deal breaker.

#163 - On 09/15/2009 at 11:42pm by pote

If she couldn't be a mature adult and just say she wanted to break up with you, you didn't need a bitch like this.

#164 - On 09/18/2009 at 7:24pm by NYGuy828

UDI for being so picky about your woman. "deal-break" hahha, what do u think u are, a gift from god ?

#165 - On 09/23/2009 at 4:41am by fckmyboyfriend

How about instead of sympathy for the stupid, saying FHL...
We say SDI, because she's an idiot.
And you're lucky to have that relationship ended. She's a dumb bitch.

I throw up when I smell cigar(ette) smoke, so you're not alone.

#167 - On 11/03/2009 at 3:25pm by Makaloraii
