it's really okay. my parents do this to each other all the time. the actually have discussions on how old they are. and their only 34 and 37. it's not that bad

I once gave my dad a card saying "Happy 36th Birthday" and he was turning 34. That was only because my mom has a bad memory though and told me he was older than he actually was. Sometimes my mom even has to ask me how old she is.
