#6 - On 05/19/2009 at 6:24am by bbq45
wow #4 way to be a shallow ass. People like you make the world rot. Looks aren't everything. Anyways, way to be a stud. Don't worry, grandma probably thought you were in to her.
#7 - On 05/19/2009 at 6:25am by LaceyPatrickson
eek. That is just......wow....fyl
GILF. I'd tap that. And think about it, if the sex was bad, she has Alzheimer's and won't remember it.
well, genetically speaking, you SHOULD look a bit like your great-grandfather, who is totally her type.
She probably meant something else and that was a glimmer of her remembering you. But you can choose to look at it anyway you want.
Actually #9, she's a GGILF.
Are you telling us you were born a man #10?
All I can say is at least this didn't happen to me. FYL
But Why Would He Deserve It? ;/iTs Ok. My Gramma Had Alzheimers. Everytime We Talked To her , She'd Be Like , "Who are you?" She Died a Few Year Ago. But, That's One Person That Thinks Yur Hot!;)
#17 - On 05/19/2009 at 7:20am by Musik_00
What I don't get is when people click "you deserve it" for something that wasn't the person's fault at all.
FYL
oh dear.
and # 18 - I know!
I agree with # 11 .. also... at least she said that.. with Alzheimer's she could have forgotten that you all were hugging her.. she could have thought you where attacking her and screamed holy hell.. the proceed to attack you...
So yeah.. you lucked out really :)
oh god. Awkward...
as someone else pointed out, you probably resemble your granddad, who technically was her type.
xD cant really blame the poor woman
#22 - On 05/19/2009 at 8:35am by hk
all you guys are fucking sick fucks, the poor woman has Alzheimer's for fuck sakes
making fun of someone with this disease is no more funny than poking fun at a dying kid with cancer
i hope everyone laughing at this gets Alzheimer's later in life to see how funny it actually is
Alzheimers sucks. :( It pretty much tore my dad's family apart, but my grandma was always saying things like that when she lived with us which actually made us laugh and helped us deal. It helps a lot when you see the humour in everything that is said.
hahaha alzheimers does suck... maybe you looked like Granddad
I agree with #27. Hopefully the OP looks like his grandfather. Alzhiemers is a terrible disease. I had my Grandma forget who I was, then tell me that her boobs were bigger than mine when I was in fourth grade.
at least you know the family has kept the same preferences over the years - the standards may have went way down hill if you weren't her type ;)
#29 - On 05/19/2009 at 9:31am by cxal
Alzheimers people scare the shit out of me. Two of my grandparents have it :(
#18 the OP deserved it for having a Great-Grandma...
>.>
I laughed, but at the same time, i feel bad :(
It is only mildly funny....sad :(
Brain diseases arent too funny. At least she likes you. Giggity
well, she can't really be held accountable, so just accept it for the creepy moment that it was and move on.
I love people with Alzheimer's! I work with them at the nursing home I work for, oh man do they say the most random things. I crack up all day long. I have so many stories you wouldn't believe...
Maybe she meant you're the type of person with whom she'd be friends, or just someone with whom she thinks she has stuff in common. Doesn't have to mean she's hitting on you... clearly she thought you were nice. =)
lol #36
This is the best FML that's been on here for a while. Favorited.
Just push her off you, grab her Jell-o and leave.
/not really.
Try not to take things like that personally, Alzheimer's lowers the individual's inhibitions and makes them say and do inappropriate things, even to family members. Especially if she doesn't even remember that you're related to her. I have several distant relatives who have it.
funny

Ha ha ha
#43 - On 05/19/2009 at 10:58am by dirtybunny
Aw! Thats not so bad, laugh it off. Imagine how she would feel if she could see herself. Enjoy her stage where she says funny inappropriate things, eventually she will just be a vegetable who can't even say anything.
#44 - On 05/19/2009 at 11:03am by hjjl
"You whisper in my ear that you want some more" oh man..
oh poor lady!! alzheimer's is so sad. but this story is hilarious!! gotta just laugh about shit like this.
#4 Made Me Laugh
My grandma asked me to get her booze when I was 8....Didnt go over so well when she said she would share
That's messed up. Perhaps you look something like your great grandfather?
Haha, wow. Well, as long as she didn't grab your ass or something I'm inclined to think that's more a cute, somewhat awkward little-old-lady moment.
23-- i agree, but the way you say that makes me disagree.
nothing funnier than alzheimer's
What's your problem? Your grandmother is the one with Alzheimer's and you're saying FYL?! She doesn't know what she's saying, grow up, laugh about it, move on.
What you don't do is post a FML about something like this. I have countless stories like that with my grandmother, who I still live with, and who knows nothing. She likes to rock back and forth a lot and say nonsense, that's about it. It's sad, not FML worthy... not for you at any rate. The only thing remotely FML about this is that you consider this an FML. You must have very little understanding or consideration for other people in general if you think this an FML.
I totally agree with #58!! How the hell do you think your grandmother would feel if she knew she came onto her grandson!?!? she has a DISEASE, she can't help it. You're an asshole. This is depressing, not FYL.
hahaha. so funny. you should have egged her on and told her she was your type.
aw :[ that's sad but that sucksss
#61 - On 05/19/2009 at 4:10pm by sictransit_rosie
Also, to all those people saying "maybe you look like your grandfather", that isn't the point at all. You could be male, female, or a pizza topping. It doesn't matter. She could have said the same thing to anything, depending on how far along she is.
haha that's cute.
Don't take it to personally and since you put on this site I'm sure you didn't.
At least she didn't squeeze or slap your ass.
Patients with Alzheimer's tend to be very sexual as that is the one part of their brains that still works.
that's terrible.
#67 - On 05/19/2009 at 5:28pm by TheAmazingRacist
Hahah you should be flatered ;)
let's just hope she meant blood type.
LOL.
#72 - On 05/19/2009 at 6:19pm by sety
It's not her fault because she has Alzheimer's, but for you that must be extremely disturbing. I wouldn't be very comfortable around her anymore, your life is fucked.
its not disturbing y'all...she doesnt know what she's doing. if anything, its uncomfortable.
deal with it, i would have laughed my ass off at the old bird.
#74 - On 05/19/2009 at 6:56pm by vag
LMFAO xD
Aww well at least you got someone wanting ya.
#58, don't be such an asshole. Alzheimer's affects both the person and their loved ones around them. Are you saying that if a family member you loved lost their mind and didn't know you anymore, that you don't have a right to feel crushed by it? It's called EMPATHY. Of course it hurts to see these people you love suffer, and it's scary as hell to witness their irrational ideas, panic, and hallucinations. I lived with my grandmother for years, through mental illness and then dementia. It was sad, frustrating, and disturbing for everyone.
And that does NOT take away from recognizing the suffering of the elderly person who's losing their mind.

Morons - SHE DOESN'T KNOW.
And by "morons," I mean "1-22, 24-25, 27-40, 42-43, 45-57, 60-73, 74, 76."
People like you never realize that Alzheimer's patients are PERFECTLY AWARE that they can't remember anything. It's not so funny then.
i don't get all these responses.
this FML just makes me really sad.
alzheimers? hitting on your own grandson? that's really, really sad to see a loved one's mind degenerate like that.
put yourselves in that guy's shoes. don't be such pricks.
that must have been awful, but i can't help but laugh...
cougar ;]
*frowns* 76, are you talking to me? Nowhere did I say that it isn't painful for the people who must watch their loved ones slowly decline more and more. If you'd read what I had to say you'd realise I live with someone with severe Alzhimer's, and would never think such a thing.
I simply said this post is not FML worthy, as it is not saying "my great grandmother has Alzhimer's" (and even if it was, is not what this site is about, or there would be countless posts of "A person I love has _______ so FML") - this FML was saying that their great grandmother came on to them, and thus, that is why they are saying FML. They don't seem to have taken into consideration that their great grandmother would be horrified if they realized they were saying such a thing, and go even further to post that it's THEIR life that deserves the FML for having such a thing said to them, and think it should be online for the world to read about.
i LOL'd, but still, Alzhimer's is a terrible thing, I've never had it in my family, but judging by this FML it's pretty bad. If I had a grandmother do this to me, I'd shit a brick. FYL dude. =)
#81, it's me again.
Yes it is FML worthy. I've seen truly sad stories on here before, and perhaps the posters feel comfort in reading all the supporting and encouraging comments. It's just far more common for people to want to post funny stories, since minor sucky moments are... well, far more common.
Also, the internet is anonymous. This great grandmother could be anyone in the world. Nobody is being exposed here. And sorry, but the OP did not suggest at all that it's only their life that deserves the FML, nor should you be making so many rude assumptions based off a couple sentences they said.
#83 - On 05/19/2009 at 10:02pm by jnic
Well then I guess we just have a difference of opinion on what an FML consists of, I do not believe posting something that another person has no control over saying as something that should be shared online. Not on this site, at any rate. These type of things are said every day by people with Alzheimer's, there are countless stories of the upsetting and random things they will say, yet I do not see them on this site.
I realize on the level that their great grandmother has Alhizmer's, this is incredibly depressing, but I still do not think that was at the core of what this FML was about and stand by that I do not think it should have been posted. I know that if it was my grandmother, I would not disrespect her, whether it is anonymous or not, by saying what she has done online to strangers.
Just remember, she's not in her right mind, poor woman. She can't help it, and I wouldn't think too much of it.
And one more thing, the part about where you're defending their choice of posting here by saying "perhaps the posters feel comfort in reading all the supporting and encouraging comments" has really been getting to me. This is simply not the place to find such a things, and if that was their intention, they've chosen the wrong place entirely, as most people here are only going to pick up on the fact that the great grandmother said they were her type and run with it.
This is the place to find people making inconsiderate comments (such as "I hope she's a hot ole bird") and for people to either agree or disagree that this is a FML moment, nothing more. Most people replying here do not even grasp the extent of Alzheimer's and its effects not only on the individual experiencing it, but their caregivers and other family and friends. To prove this fact, many people reading this are simply laughing.
I find it wrong to see something like this posted here for that reason alone, people here don't understand.

I clicked FML because my cousin has Alzheimer's and we enjoy having her around, no matter what she says (We know she doesn't really know). So eff your life for submitting this to FML; you don't seem to realize it's a blessing that granny is still around!
What kind of person would post this as a FML?!
Is this a sick joke?! She has a condition, grow up and be respectful
#78 try being a little more mature...reading every last comment and then calling the people that posted them "morons" doesn't help anything.stfu.people are allowed to have their opinions...
This is painfully sad. Sorry.
#90 - On 05/20/2009 at 12:16am by Kira
HAHAHA. Oh Alzheimer's and suggested incest. At least she's got enough memory to know what she wants.
hahhaha that's amazing. fyl
I think that's cute! Made me smile.. of course, I'm reading this in my office on an Alzheimer's unit in a nursing home!
Seriously, people worrying (READ: bitching) about "appropriateness" miss the point entirely. Yes, it's incredibly sad and affecting when a loved one slowly loses their mind. But if it were me, I'd much prefer finding the funny side than moping around depressing everyone around. Do you think that sick people prefer being around somber, humorless automatons all the time?
Lighten up, it helps. At least it did me when my grandparents died.
Uh, of course you need to find the funny side in things they say, and not take what they say seriously. It's the only way to cope sometimes, but to tell strangers online about it on a site like this and act like it's an FML? No. I don't think so.
Yikes! I can def feel your pain. My uncle also has Alzheimers and told me I'm a "sexy little thing"; horrible experience.
Who cares where he shares it? We have no idea who they are, where they live, or in what facility the great grandmother currently resides. In fact, it might make it easier for him to laugh about it here rather than risk some uptight relative giving him shit about it.
I doubt he meant _actually_ fuck his life, but so what if he did?
Who cares? There are several people here who have voiced that they care, that they don't think this is an FML, and that they think it's disgusting that this person considered it an FML. I've even gone as far as to say why; that it's disrespectful to post such a thing on a site like this. It doesn't matter if it's anonymous, like I already said, that's besides the point.
The fact is that they're saying their disabled great grandparent who doesn't even realise what ahe was saying, came on to them... and then getting a bunch of people online, not familiar with the situation whatsoever, laughing about it. It just isn't what's done. If it was, this place would be filled with Alzheimer's stories, and every other type of mental disability story - there's limitless amounts of them. It's a disease, and it shouldn't be posted for the amusement of people on a site like this. Like someone else said, "it's no more funny than poking fun at a dying kid with cancer."
We're obviously not going to see eye to eye on this, I'm just repeating myself, so I'm done here.

Do you possibly resemble your great-grandpa?
Omfg !!
That is uhm..disturbing x)
#105 - On 05/21/2009 at 11:10am by Shortaay_xx
Not a FML, not a YDI...
IF she has Alzheimers, she's not seeing you as you are. She's probably confusing her with her husband, or a previous boyfriend.
Sharpen your swords boys, it's time to go... dragon slaying!
this is not an fyl but its not a ydi either........ it's not your fault your grandmother has alzhemiers. maybe shes thinking your someone else.
My grandfather talked to me as if I were a fellow army friend in fighting in WW2 with him. It's sad but there is nothing you can do about it.
We're not gonna see eye to eye not because your point makes any sense (it doesn't), but because it's obvious you're having the time of your life up there on your high horse.
It's ok to see the funny side of life, bad or good, and the OP has the right to share his story wherever he wants, whenever he wants.
Btw, OP, sorry your great-grandma has Alzheimer's, hang in there. And for what it's worth, I think you seem to be coping pretty well. Keep on keepin' on.
At least she remembers what her type is...LOL...and like other commenters said...you probably do look like grandpa who of course was her type.
Well - considering this is your grandma, and she married your grandpa, you might have a little something from him and she saw the resemblance - hence you are her type :p
Poor great-grandma. Funny though!!
Haha, disturbing, but funny. :p
#115 - On 06/08/2009 at 11:58am by ohhshit_asian
ignore it alzheimers is a serious illnes
...On the bright side, at least she didn't try to kill you, you know?
(AWW YEAH, I'd tap that)
That's quite disturbing. I would probably have nightmares if my grandma (who also has Alzheimer) would say that to me.
i thought that was cute, and in no way disturbeing, she dosnt rememebr who you are... but of course iv been working with people like her for 2 and half years soo.....
#119 - On 06/22/2009 at 12:57am by closemyeyes
Say TMI
but that sucks, sry
Think of it this way, at least you know you're loved right? But still it's a shame her memory is going.
I'm really sorry that she can't remember who you are. :/
But that's not so bad. When my grandpa had Alzheimer's, he thought I was a Japanese spy who was trying to poison him. He tried to pinch me and called me a homosexual. :P
it depends on her tone of voice. if it sounded like she was hitting on you, then yeah, fml fits.
but sometimes elderly use the phrase "you're my type" as a way to say they like your personality. my grandmother suffers from alzheimer so i understand where you're coming from
