Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I found out my job is trying to get me to quit. FML
Today, I was forced into accepting a "promotion" for a position that pays less than what I get right now. FML
Today, after two and half years at my company and after recently being promoted, I was told by my boss the business doesn't feel it needs me, and invited me to find another job. FML
Today, I was informed that the company I work for has been taken over by the previous company I worked for. I left that company with a burn-out, after years of 60-75 hour weeks, so I'll soon be working for them again in the exact same department I so happily left behind last year. FML
Today, I found out that I'm not getting a new position I applied for at my company. Now, I have to continue working for my boss, who recently severely criticized my spelling in my reports, only they weren't my reports, and when I pointed this out, she simply never responded. FML
Today, I learned that the manager I switched jobs to escape 7 months ago will be my new boss. FML
Today, after working at the same place for 3 years, I found out that they are not only cutting my hours but now I have to take orders from some girl I trained because she was promoted over me. FML
Today, a month after getting a big promotion, I found out that I'm stuck with my old job. No one wants to take my old position, so they are vacating my new one and will post it, because, "This one is more desirable, and your's is shit." FML
Today, I was demoted at work to a much harder and more time-consuming position because, I quote, "You have more experience." My boss is now telling the others I volunteered to be moved to the lower position. FML
Today, I got notice that I didn't get the new position I applied for at work. After two interviews, pay negotiation and paperwork, as well as years of giving this place all my time, I found out my boss gave it to his friend's daughter, who has no experience or credentials needed for the position. FML

This happened to me last year. Someone left and my boss tried to get me to do both our jobs on a project that was already frustrating and my company was trying to renew it without the other guy. I told them I couldn’t do the other guy’s part, I had no experience doing the other guy’s part, I didn’t want to do the other guy’s part, we would deliver a half-assed performance to our clients if I was forced to do all this, and if they really wanted to keep going with this project, they would need to hire someone else to do his part. They didn’t listen and tried to force me as they kept pursuing a new project with me in that role. So I sought a new job - it took months to find it - and left. I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER. Less stress, more support, a manager I love, better income and benefits. I had been with my previous org 12+ years as well and felt like I was leaving my family. Fuuuuck that. No regrets. They moved on in another direction, and I found a job that improved my quality of life. You can do the same, OP. It’s scary as **** leaving a job you’ve been with for so long, but it can really end up being the best decision you’ve ever made. Good luck!

It’s clearly time to find another job. You know that. It’s scary at first but eventually it actually becomes a challenge and keeps you sharp.

Milton has been at Initech for many years and they keep stealing his Swingline stapler. Corporate life sucks, buttercup.

Studies show that job hopping every 2-3 years vastly increases the amount you will earn over your working career. You should seriously look at bailing.
