Today, while shopping at American Eagle, I found the same "$1,500" wedding ring my fiancé proposed to me with, marked on sale for $10.95. FML

Before you all attack OP and declare her a terrible, selfish, materialistic person, maybe you should think about the possibility that she only cared that he lied about the ring, not the actual cost.

It could have been a knock off... You never know. The one you have may be real diamonds and the other cubic zircon

I love my 35 dollar wedding rings more than my first set of 2500 dollar ones that were stolen. who cares the cost!

Why does everybody always think that engagement rings need to be thousands of dollars? Who cares how much it was, if you really love him it wouldn't matter. If you really feel the need to waste money on an expensive ring then save it for the actual wedding bands. Jeez.

I think this is more about the fact that he lied.

Does it really matter how much he spent on the ring? If you love each other, I suppose that's what's most important. Besides, spending nearly $2,000 dollars for a piece of jewelry is insane.

That's a hell of a sale!

OP I know it's bad that he lied but honesty it's still cool that you got a ring?

well at least he proposed

I really wouldn't care if someone got me a real one or not. If it's what they can afford, then I'd understand. Just don't lie about it. That's when we'll have problems.
