Today, thinking we'd still be able to finish our project in time for tomorrow's deadline, my work group put off doing any work until today. When we logged into the website we have to use, we found it was down for maintenance all day. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, we spent an entire day without being able to do work because our internet connection was down. Turns out, only the router had crashed and nobody bothered to reset it "to avoid doing further damage". FML
Slacking
Today, I spent most of the day doing a project for school. When I finished, I got a call from my project partner. She couldn't finish her part because her internet didn't work. When I finally finished everything, I went on Facebook. She was on Facebook too. FML
Commited
Today, I’m a junior developer and I'd pushed what I thought was a minor fix right before logging off on Friday. Monday morning, I walked into a message: “Site down since Saturday.” My “tiny change” broke a key function. The whole team was already in a call when I joined, and I had to say, "Yeah, um… that was my commit.” FML
They targeted gamers
Today, I was finally allowed some time to get my game on. When I attempted to log in, I was given an error message. The game servers were down. Estimated time back up was, "sometime later this week". I was unable to get my game on, and had to do chores instead. FML
Today, our e-mail server went down. When I called IT to find out what the status was, they told me they e-mailed everyone with an update. FML
Great prank guys, love it
Today, after working like a caffeine-fuelled thunderstorm for 9 hours straight on an art project, my 2 friends informed me that it was due next week. I slept for 10 hours, and then went to my class without my project, thinking I lucked out in the long run. Clearly not, as it was due today. FML
No respect
Today, I was excited to finally take a day off work and relax at home. However, as soon as I was on the couch to Netflix and chill with my cat, I got a call from my boss saying I was needed at the office to fix a major issue. I ended up spending the entire day at work and didn't get to enjoy my "day off." FML
The weakest link
Today, at work I accidentally shut down a computer that does the essential routine jobs and hasn’t been turned off in 11 years. When it turned on again all the updates we’ve been ignoring decided to run at the same time. The run time is currently 4 hours and our whole office is in a shambles. FML
Today, after working all day and putting in hours of overtime, I realized I never clocked in. FML
Updated
Today, I'm desperately trying to complete a project for a client. However, I have to stop every hour to provide the client with an update of the progress. The deadline is in mid July. FML

I'd tell the professor. Even though it was the last day the professor should understand that you guys tried to finish before the deadline. Screenshot the page, contact the teacher, and keep checking the website. And do yourself a favor try not to procrastinate.

As a fellow procrastinator as well as someone who has experienced a similar problem (the website we had to turn it in to crashed 30 minutes prior to the deadline) I feel OP's pain. Hopefully their teacher is lenient and understands the situation, because my teacher just blamed us for doing it last minute and making excuses. FYL OP, but next time you and your group shouldn't procrastinate.

My bad I didn't notice it was a work situation until now. Excuse my last comment...

Actually, I thought it was a school thing too. "Work group" works either way.

#17, no your good, it fits with work or not work, just replace the professor with boss. Boom problem solved.

Honestly it depends on how long the teacher gave them to complete said assignment. My teacher gave us 3 months on a paper and had no sympathy for those who waited until the last minute.

Can't tell me you have never procrastinated on a paper before.

Not completely. **** OP's life too if it was a small project which could be finished off in a day. Get a screenshot of the website being down and see if you can get some extra time to finish off the work.

Number one rule is always wait until 8 hours before the project is due, then start.

Procrastination - it's not always wise.
drshn 22
but we all do it.. isn't it!!!

It's never wise...but we all still do it anyways. This is coming from the biggest procrastinator you will ever know. In fact, I'm doing it right now :P

Procrastination is like masturbation, in the end, you're just screwing yourself.

Yep- I agree! #23 - haha!

YDI for procrastinating.

Procrastination always gets back to you, huh? That's one of those things hard to explain to a professor... Good luck?

Never wait until the last moment. That said, it would be reasonable to try to get a 24-hour extension. Good luck and hopefully, lesson learned ?

I wanna say that you deserve it, but I leave every assignment until the last minute myself so I'd be a hypocrite. Instead, I sympathise.

Just because you do the same, does not mean they dont desevre it...
jakethejeep 7
If there was no warning it would be down, you should be able to get an extension.

Yeah, professors don't work that way. They shouldn't have put it off.

Well that was your own fault. YDI OP

Auto correct is probably smarter than you, so it's me an excuse.
