Today, the government froze my bank account for not paying college debt, and now I can't access my 0.30 cents. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
'Cause I'm a Criminal
Today, I woke up to find both of my bank accounts frozen. My bank informed me that the IRS had ordered a freeze on my assets because of back taxes owed, and would not unfreeze them until the money is paid. The amount? $2.47. FML
Today, I found out that my parents are 28,000 dollars in debt and that my bank account has $27.17 in it. They took my money to help pay their debt. FML
Thieves like us
Today, I found my checking and savings account to both read $0.00. My parents transferred all my money to theirs because "I'm irresponsible, and not fit to handle money." I'm a 3.8 college student and have a full-time job. They are currently unemployed. FML
Today, I have -$700 in my current account, $500 from overdraft fees because I spent money they told me I had. I don't get paid till the 15th and when I cash in my paycheck all of it will go to bringing me even. So the $9 I found in my wallet this morning will have to last me untill the 30th. FML
Today, I found out that I owed my school $0.20. They decided to charge me a late fee of $20 for deferring the intial payment. FML
Bunch of bankers
Today, my bank overdrafted my account to pay a bill that isn't due until next month. When I called them, they said they would fix the mistake, but I have to restore the account to zero before they'll give me my money back. So, I have to pay for my own money with the money they won't give me. FML
Thanks, appreciate it!
Today, I was overdrawn $15 at the bank. I paid in my last $80 in cash, only for them to inform me that I've been slapped with $90 in overdraft fees. FML
Today, I found out my bank charged me $50 for not having any money. Way to go bank, way to go. FML
Today, getting home from a long day at work, I checked the mail and saw three envelopes from the IRS. Apparently I now owe over $4,000. I only have $2 in my bank account. FML
Today, I was so broke that I paid for a $0.28 candy bar with my credit card. FML

.30 = $0.30 or 30 cents.

What this person meant is that they didn't put a dollar sign, and if they had the word "cents" would be unnecessary. As they wrote it, 0.30 is the same as writing ".3" meaning that yes, technically OP wrote that they had .3 cents, which would be less than a cent, which means less than a penny.

Looks like you're cut off from your untold fortunes, OP. How dare you hold out that much on the government!

Say it with me... Income Based Repayment Plan! That's the beauty of government funded student loans. Unless they're all private student loans, then you're screwed.

I wasn't sure if this was a fyl or ydi because more likely it's the fault of the education system. College debt sucks and I hope you get your 30 cents back OP :(

How is this person refusing to pay back money they signed a contract agreeing to pay at a certain rate the fault of the education system? The education system provided its services and now they don't want to pay for them.

I mean any credit/loan company will work with you if you talk to them. Sounds like you just ignored them and defaulted rather than taking responsibility. It's likely that if all you ever generally have is 30 cents in your bank account, you'd qualify for very low or no payments. Or you could have deferred. For you to end up where you are, it means you just refused to pay. So don't ask for sympathy or complain. You made your bed, now lie in it.
