Today, the city shut off our water, because they said we didn't pay the bill. Turns out, it was sitting on their desk the whole time. I guess sending someone out to turn off our water was easier than checking to see if we'd actually paid the bill. FML
Today, I finally got my paycheck that I could enjoy $300 for myself after taking care of my bills with so many other ones. Then, I find out that the water was shut off, which is supposed to be my roommate's responsibility. Apparently, he has not paid it in months, and they want $288. FML
Today, my roommate decided to go on a group trip instead of paying our water bill. Now I can't shower until next week. FML

Today, my roommate decided to turn off all appliances in the house to "save" electricity. This included the refrigerator. FML
Today, my apartment management notified me that my water was going to be shut off all day so they could fix the plumbing. I took a laxative last night. FML

I'm pretty sure that they CAN shut it off if it isn't paid. It may take a while, but it can and will happen. I got my electricity shut off in winter when it was about 40 degrees during the day and in the teens at night. They don't care. Bill didn't get paid, so they shut it off!
