Today, our airplane was delayed because of issues with the de-ice-ing. Then, because it had too little fuel. Then, because of engine troubles. Then, because our first officer needed to be replaced due to legal restrictions on pilots' hours. Now, I get to go straight from the plane to work. FML

Today, to avoid a massive delay on our scheduled flight at the airport, we were generously moved to an earlier flight home. An hour later, our new flight had been cancelled and they told us we'd be stuck at the airport overnight. Our original flight took off fine. FML
Today, I spent six hours driving between two airports to try and catch my flight. Two trailer accidents, two construction zones, three detours, and one police escort later, the airline wouldn't let me on the plane. FML
Today, due to a scheduling error, I spent an entire day and night in an airport, over 30 hours in total. Just as I arrived at the gate, I was informed that my flight had been delayed for another 2 hours. FML
Today, I'm anxious traveler who's flying by myself. My first flight got delayed due to one issue after another. This caused me to miss my connection. There are no more flights today so I'm having to stay overnight which, by the way, the airline won't pay for. FML
Today, I waited patiently in the airport as my flight was repeatedly delayed. After 5 long hours I approached one of the attendees to discover that the plane had left 5 minutes ago. FML
Today, my work made us all get up at 3 a.m. to head to the airport for our 7 a.m. flight, only for us to get to the airport and find out the flight is cancelled. FML
Today, I finally get to go home after a 16 day training event in Colorado. The plane has been sitting in the runway for over three hours due to lightning storms and we're not allowed to leave. We've spent more time on the ground waiting than the flight itself would take. FML
Today, I was at the airport getting ready to go to Hawaii. The guy at the counter said my flight was delayed. It turns out that the flight that was delayed was a flight going to Miami. My flight left at the regular time, and my luggage was on it, because I checked in the night before. FML
Today, I was stuck at the airport overnight waiting for my flight for about 5 hours. I then went and looked at the departures board. It said that my flight had already departed. FML
Today, I woke up at 3am to catch my flight back home, only to realize that my flight was pushed back 14 hours. FML

ok you're other alternatives were : crash the wings are too heavy due to ice crash the plane is too heavy due to fuel crash the pilot falls asleep crash due to engine failure so going straight to work is better than not going to work because you're dead

I was flying out of Washington DC on a Sunday night, and it got delayed several hours. We were then told that there are noise regulations against jets flying in DC after 11 PM, but at about 10:40, they stupidly rushed us all on the plane anyway, only to make us get off and stay the night. Luckily, I had a place to stay, but I was a half-day late for work the next day because senators don't like loud planes over their houses at night.

I agree with starfire!! Why work the same day your back!! Unless your in the military? Even then I left early enough to chill on base/ship so I had time to get aquainted/re aquaitnted!!!

The OP never said, "they should have just left all that stuff there and flew anyways!" she is just saying its a FML because the plane got so delayed. if she had said, "today, our airplane was delayed. FML." it wouldn't have been that interesting. well to you, maybe but not to the rest of us. I bet you mod FML's and say yes to ones like "today, I sharted. FML."

Its called life, deal with it. Or are you the kind of idiot who would rather fly with a deadly layer of ice on the wings? One which could gradually build up until the wing loses the ability to produce lift, sending the plane into a horrific, uncontrollable crash.

In all fairness, that sounds like a very unpleasant flight. Sure, there are more unfortunate situations but can't we all agree that this kind of sucks too? I'm sure she'd rather undergo this ordeal than die. I don't think that was ever meant to even be debatable.
