Today, my Uber driver tried to detour my trip home to take me on a date to Waffle House, even after I showed zero interest and talked about my boyfriend non-stop. FML

Today, I got into an Uber, excited for the date I was going to. After about 20 minutes, I had a confused conversation with the driver, because it seemed like we were going to the wrong address. I checked the app, I'd booked a ride to my ex’s place out of habit. FML
Today, I was on the worst blind date ever, so I tried to secretly request an Uber to get out of there. My date then picked up his phone, receiving my request. Turns out he's an Uber driver and he was looking for a reason to get out of the date too. FML
Today, my Tinder date arranged an Uber to pick her up before we had even finished our appetizers. She was so bored she couldn't be bothered to stay for the whole meal. FML
Today, I suggested ordering Uber Eats and my new boyfriend looked at me like I was suggested kissing a warthog, then ranted about how he's "not paying extra to get wrong cold food handled by an illiterate brown guy." Okay then. FML
Today, I went on a date with a guy who seemed to be quite the gentleman. I was proven wrong when he told me to "shut it" during dinner, stiffed me on the bill, and then left me at the restaurant so he could get his own taxi home. FML
Today, I’m stuck on a date with a man who got ready by washing his car instead of showering, is proud to never read newspapers because “they lie”, and thinks racist jokes count as witty conversation. I’d have left already but he drove me, there’s no bus stop nearby, and no Ubers in the area. FML
Today, I went on a date to the movies with this guy I kinda like. When he was driving me home, he asked me to be his girlfriend; I said I couldn’t because it was really bad timing. He kicked me out of the car, called me an asshole, and made me walk home. FML
Today, I was getting into a Uber after a long day at work. I opened the door, sat down, and started venting to the driver about my horrible day. Five minutes in, I realized I had climbed into a random stranger’s car. He didn’t even tell me; he just let me complain. FML
Today, my date made me pay him for picking me up, and taking me back home. FML
Today, I got into an Uber, said, “Hey! How’ve you been?” to the driver, thinking he was a friend of mine. The guy suspiciously replied, “Uh, I think we’ve never met,” and we both sat in uncomfortable silence for the rest of the ride. FML

People who have been raised on unfortunately true horror stories of women being attacked, both physically and sexually after eating a meal with men who have this deranged idea that buying a woman a meal means they are somehow entitled to have sex with the woman.

OP, ask him for the money per your Waffle House dinner (+ tip) in advance right there in the cab then pay what you owe him - with-OUT a (monetary) tip in return! :-)

Tried to as in was trying to talk you into saying yet? Or tried to as in took you to a location that was not your request? If it's the latter, call the police and report the driver for harassment (at the least) if not kidnapping.

Damn, it'd be scary to be in a car with someone who won't take no for an answer. I would have gotten out at a traffic light and taken the fee then reported. You might not be the first and if you don't report it you definitely won't be the last.
