Today, my mother sat me down to tell me that since coming home from college, I sounded like "a liberated woman." She was disappointed and disturbed by this, and said that I should stop having strong opinions and ideals because it would make finding a husband for me difficult. FML

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I had to explain to my mother that a lace mini-dress with an obscene amount of cleavage was not appropriate to wear while meeting my boyfriend's parents. She called me an "annoying prude" and said that with my attitude, I don't deserve to have a man. FML
Today, my mom once again told me that I'm too young and immature to get married, and that I don't know what love is. I'm 29, have a successful career, own my own home, and am financially stable. FML
Today, I finally thought that my mother was okay with me being a lesbian. Then, over dinner, she turns to me and says, "So, do you still think you like girls, or are you going to start being normal again?" FML
Today, my mother is mad at me because I dared, yes DARED, to go out with a girl who stands up to her instead of just meekly doing what she tells her. Which should tell you exactly what sort of woman my mother is, so you know this FML is just the tip of my lifelong misery iceberg. FML
Today, I went out to dinner with my mom and several of her friends. My mom spent the entire night gushing about my Ivy League school and med student boyfriend. I attend a state university and I'm single. She threatened to cut me off if I didn't play along. FML
Today, I was talking with my mother and expressed my slight disappointment at how many of my friends are getting into relationships, whereas I'm still single. My mother decided to encourage me by saying "Don't worry, sweetie. There are boys out there who don't go for looks. You'll be fine". FML
Today, my mom was helping me plan for going to college. After 30 minutes of me getting more upset, and her getting more frustrated, she directed me to Tinder, a wedding venue website, and the local address for Planned Parenthood. Her actual words were, "There's no shame in being a stay at home dad these days." FML
Today, my wife said I was being difficult and unreasonable, and called my mother to talk to me about my behaviour. What did I do, you ask? I dared to share my opinion on something I happen to feel strongly about, instead of just mindlessly agreeing with her opinion like I have for the past 22 years. FML
Today, my mother described what her ideal daughter-in-law should be like. Halfway through her description, fishing for some compliments, I told her that such a girl would be way above my league. She sighed and emphatically agreed. FML
Today, my mother told me I should think about quitting school. She explained that the reason was because she didn't want me to be more successful than my older sisters. FML

Don't stop being "a liberated woman" everyone should use their brains and being willing to speak in a peaceful manor and have discussions on issues. Besides I would rather date a woman that can tell me that I am wrong and then we can discuss why I am wrong and find common ground. Keep it up, your doing the right thing.

So you're saying that women should have to throw away their lives for a blob of cells that does not yet have an identity and the atrocities American soldiers commit are okay because they're American. Our soldiers are assassinating, executing and murdering people around the world because they didn't obey our laws and they weren't born in our country. The terrorists are doing exactly what we are doing. They are killing people from another country because a few people in the victim's country did something "wrong". They killed a soldier. That soldier probably killed an innocent civilian. And whether or not it was an accident, that soldier is part of an invading force. The terrorists care about their rights as humans as we do our own. By the way, we're going after the wrong terrorists. Yes they were part of Al Qaeda, but the ones behind 9/11 were Iranian. Not from Iraq or Afghanistan. And America was the one who gave the terrorists their weapons back in the 80's. Stop watching Fox news you dolt.

Sadly, I bothered reading the rest of your post - based on your initial stupidity, I was pleased to find that you remained within the same vein of ignorance. What the hell does universal health care, Guantanamo, the war in Iraq and Bush have to do with this FML? Were the 'shrooms at least good? People, please stop assuming that this mind-set is exclusively Middle Eastern or Muslim. There are plenty of girls right here in the West who act like bimbos on purpose so as not to intimidate men.
