Today, my mom prevented me from walking a neighbor's dog because she said I'm obsessed with it. I walk the dog three times a day because that's what the neighbors pay me to do. FML

Hello, OP here! The family that owns the dog is out of town currently due to Thanksgiving and all that, which is why they need someone to walk the dog. I take care of other things too of course, like feeding, making sure he goes to bed, etc but it's mostly just letting him get his exercise.

Don't let her stop you op. Tell her it's your job and you made a commitment to your neighbours. (Parents usually understand commitment issues). Also tell her that the dog needs to be let out that much and may have an accident in their house if you don't go. Don't let her stop you.

Not everyone can afford gaming level PC's, y'know. Most of the people (myself included) that play mostly on consoles do so because gaming computers are distressingly expensive.

I don't care what you play on, personally, but if, for example, you owned all 3 modern consoles (Wii U, Xbox One, PS4), you've probably paid more than you need for, at worst, a decent gaming PC, or, if you know how to pick your parts, a gaming PC that outclasses all 3.

Hah, I wish I had all three of the new gens- I don't even have one of them because they're too expensive. Console prices drop faster than the prices of computers or even computer prices, at least in the area I live in and the places nearby enough to shop. That said, PCs are probably the better long term investment, it's just that the cost upfront is so damn high.

They could be elderly and unable to walk. Perhaps they travel for work and are not home often. There are lots of possibilities.

I can understand the elderly aspect, but otherwise they probably shouldn't have a dog if they can't take care of it themselves.

They could also be young but physically disabled, with the dog being emotional support for them. Or just not have the time to take clothe dog on long walks to expend excess energy, but otherwise take care of them. Plus, they at least pay someone to take care of the aspect they don't themself, instead of leaving the need neglected.

my parents' dogs have a full bedtime routine. they go outside one last time, get full food dishes, and each get a treat that they take to their "rooms". Gigi sleeps on the living room couch with a gate blocking the door frame, and Puppi sleeps in my mom's room on blankets. if it isn't done just right they freak out. maybe my parents' dogs aren't the only ones like this.

45- Before my dogs passed away they were on bedtime routines as well. They'd go "hurry up" one last time, give some loves to everyone in the house, then go to their separate crates and get a bedtime treat. For 15 years they did it every single night, and would also get upset if it wasn't done correctly.
