Today, my minivan broke down on the side of the highway. I'm out of work and can't afford a cell phone, so I resorted to standing at the back of my van holding a "HELP" sign. About an hour went by, in which time I was passed by a cop car, a firetruck, and a car that said "Roadside Assistance." FML

Goes to show just how kind people can be these days.

If you want a cop to stop you should write "Free Donuts".

this is so not true... its illegal if a cop or firefighter don't respond to someone asking for help... ur sick... get a life

Awww that's kinda sad =(

IF the cop or firefighter were on their way to a bigger emergency they may not have been able to stop for a dead car. HOWEVER, I bet if you had striped necked and stood on the side of the road they would have stopped AND given you a ride. LOL

Well Roadside assistance guys are for those who are members of AAA (CAA in Canada)

I'm sorry that really sux. I've been there before.

Then why do you have a computer and Internet?

Some places have free Internet access && computers.

it's not your fault! I hate seeing cops that are just siting on the side of the highway waiting for someone to speed past them!!! It pisses me off!! They should be driving around and helping people and keeping our cities and streets safe!!

note: that is also part of their jobs.

how come you didn't walk to the nearest exit instead of just sitting there helplessly?

All I can really say is FYL. and you should like report the police. Unless they already had some emergency, they should've stopped.

You realize all you need is a charged up cell phone with no plan and 911 still works?
