Today, my extremely racist coworker was doing his usual thing. Since it was 9/11 he went absolutely hardcore on his "jokes" so I reported it to my supervisor. She asked what did he say specifically and I recited it to her. She decided to write me up for "making inappropriate comments at work". FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I told my supervisor how awful my coworker was at her job. I then got fired. FML
Today, my boss wrote me up for saying "pissed" in front of a client. This is the same boss who nearly pissed himself laughing when a client made an extremely off-color Holocaust joke a few weeks ago, in front of half the department. FML
Mr Boss Man
Today, my boss threatened to write me up, after I made a slightly rude joke about a coworker everyone hates. A while later, a colleague told me the same joke. Turns out my boss had gone around telling it to everyone else and taking all the credit. FML
Professional.
Today, my boss threatened to fire me for racism after I refused to hire a black woman. I didn't hire her because she came to the interview wearing what was basically a bikini and she was covered in tattoos depicting lewd sex acts. FML
Asshat walking
Today, a random customer at work admonished my coworker for being on her phone. During our lunch break. As he walked away, my coworker muttered, "What the fuck is his problem?" I nodded in agreement. He heard her and saw me nodding. As did our boss. Time to get written up. FML
Today, I was accused of being a "racist whore" at work. I'd only asked a man if he needed help finding anything, as that is part of my job. FML
Yadda yadda yadda
Today, our desks were rearranged. I was seated next to a coworker who spends the entire day on the phone, chatting loudly with his relatives in another country while he works. I complained that it was distracting. Management won't do anything about it and warned me that "my complaints reek of racism." FML
Today, a customer at work said his table was dirty. I asked which one he was sitting at so I could clean it for him. For some bizarre reason he got pissed and called my manager over. He ended up reporting us to corporate, and my manager got written up. He's blaming me for everything. FML
Today, I got fired, apparently for being racist to black people. When I told my boyfriend, he couldn't stop laughing. He's black. FML
Backfired
Today, it was a coworker's last day. Over the last 6 months, he has been talking smack about me because he assumed I'd ratted him out for a Facebook post, ranting about our place of employment. I decided to confront him after work to let him know that I didn't do it. He then reported me for harassment to all of my supervisors. FML

No, no, no. You need to take this higher up and fight this. Tell them what really happened.

If you got written up for repeating it, hopefully he got fired for saying it.

Sounds like the boss and racist coworker could be in it together. If the boss won't do anything, other than write you up, you need to take it to a higher up, but not until you've recorded this racist idiot a few times first. That way you have proof that he talks like this and it isn't just his (and your bosses) word against you. Because if you go to a higher up saying what the guy said and tell them that you told the boss, the boss did nothing about it and wrote you up, then chances are that boss is going to deny everything and it'll be your word against hers. Record a few times, get the proof, and then bring it to the appropriate people.

To anyone out there thinking of doing this, make sure you check the laws governing recording where you live. Some places are "One party consent" areas, so you can record anything you like, but others are "two party consent" areas where someone must agree to being recorded.

Quit snitchin'
RinoaHeartilly 36
Racism isn't something you can just ignore. People need to speak out against it.
RichardPencil 32
Reporting crimes is also important, but still snitches get stitches.
RinoaHeartilly 36
Some things are worth the risk to actually try and make a difference.

since when are 9/11 jokes racist?
RinoaHeartilly 36
I'm assuming it was jokes about Muslims.
One_In_Three 24
Islam isn't a race.
MrsHoffman 11
and neither are muslims, they come in all colors
LH_FIRE_22 12
Why do you assume it was a joke about Muslims? Most 9/11 jokes are about the towers collapsing of the people dying. And Muslim isn't a race, so therefore the racism card becomes invalid
zman938 8
The only people who complain about snitching is the idiots doing something wrong. I hope you get arrested for the things you do.
PelelrGnu 4
No, it doesn't make the race card invalid, its called institutional racism.
wulff115 8
It's not about snitching it's about being respectful. I had a friend who died in the towers 9/11 that's not funny
Dat_Class_Tho 26
The majority of islamaphobes lump Muslims into an over generalized group of "brown people from the other side of the world that I hate". So yes, sometimes islamaphobia and racism are interchangeable. Especially when the 2 most common offensive terms used for Muslims are "sand monkey" and "sand nig**r".

I'm tempted to make a 9/11 joke myself, but knowing this community, I'm pretty sure my sick/dark sense of humor would just fly over the heads of a lot of people... Not to mention, either most of you guys would hang me, or the mods would ban me. ( ._.)
raphanne_fml 33
*rolls eyes* Just make your joke. What's the worst that can happen? Downvotes, being moderated or a day ban or something.
SecundusSecunda 27
11, a lot of jimmies would be very, very russled
NostalgiaFreak9 43
I don't understand why people make 9/11 jokes anyway, they're just plane wrong. I'll see myself out the door now as this gets downvoted and possibly moderated.

Having been banned before I say it can be longer than a day. That was the worst week of my FML community life :(

# 20 i see what u did there "911 jokes are just "plane" wrong"
J352SAURUS 30
The ****... I think OP was totally in the right for reporting the coworker. It's completely disrespectful and outrageously distasteful to make jokes about such a tragedy, especially on its anniversary. Jesus Christ, the supervisor should go **** herself. I know some people will say that it's "just a joke", but no, it's not "just a joke". You're making a joke at the expense of so many people's suffering and that, to me, is disgusting.
vicfirthfan 11
I completely agree. 9/11 jokes are just plane wrong

I see what you did there #22. Totally hit two..... Birds with one stone. I was tempted though

Bluepies 24
So you gonna tell us the joke or what?
ThrottleJockey 36
If Holocaust jokes are still "too soon" then 9/11 jokes are most certainly in poor taste.
NostalgiaFreak9 43
Trust me, on the dangerous side of the Internet, you will run into a few holocaust jokes here and there.
ZombieSlaya115 17
I'm sick and tired of holocaust jokes Anne Frankly, I won't put up with them. (Waits for downvotes)

#24 How much did the holla cost?
ThrottleJockey 36
I certainly cannot say that I did Nazi this coming.

Your boss is punishing you for complaining so they can avoid future complaints. This is BS. If you want to go the extra mile then take it to HR. But be prepared for backlash no matter what they promise. If your company has a hotline report all future complaints to them.

How about you being so sensitive he's just joking around and if he's being serious then just shut up he'll get his
clarinet500 16
Making jokes about the deaths of 3,000 people is quite offensive. It could have been overheard by someone who lost a loved one on that tragic day.
