Today, in an attempt to get my son to stop playing Call of Duty, I threw his Xbox controller out the window. He was so desperate, he followed it. His bedroom is on the second floor. My son has 3 broken ribs, and no future. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Heated gaming moment
Today, I got a call from my son's friend's dad, demanding I pick him up immediately. When I arrived, he marched me into the house and pointed at an Xbox controller lodged in the wall, informing me I'd be receiving the bill for drywall repair. FML
Little shit
Today, I refused to play with my brother because he always breaks my stuff. Mom brought him into my room to force us to play together. He tripped and spilled coke on my Xbox, which smoked then died. Mom just backed out of the room with him slowly, like, "I see what you mean, we'll leave you alone now." I hate him so much. FML
Today, my 12-year-old son played QWOP on my laptop. Half an hour later, he virtually destroyed it in a fit of rage. FML
Devil child
Today, after my 14 year-old son brought home six Fs on his report card, we decided to take away all his video games and sell them. He screamed for hours, then went into the kitchen and started smashing glasses against his head, "until we brought back his games." FML
You tried
Today, in an effort to try and be closer to my girlfriend's son, I bought him an expensive Xbox game I know he desperately wanted so we could play it together. He was excited, until he realised that I that paid for it. He snapped the disc and threw the pieces in the bin. At least I tried. FML
So many questions…
Today, I finally got my son to go for a run. He broke his neck 4 months ago and has been playing video games the entire time. I was a competitive runner once and run everyday. He kicked my ass, 21 minutes for the first 5k and he sped up. He was back playing video games when I finally got home. I think I lost a lung on the trails. FML
Today, I'm sitting in the ER with my eight-year-old son. He broke his arm after jumping out through the second story window. He was too impatient to walk to the ice cream van pulling up outside. FML
Today, in an attempt to keep my valuables safe, I snatched my PlayStation 4 controller from the hands of my 4-year-old nephew. Not knowing that it was connected, I ultimately yanked the PlayStation and the HD Flatscreen flat on their faces. FML
Overreaction much?
Today, I caught my boyfriend cheating so I broke up with him. As revenge he threw my PS3 and XBox out of the window when I wasn't in our house. I got those consoles out of the spare money my three jobs had brought in - the same three jobs I had to get because he refused to get a job of his own. FML
Today, my girlfriend threw my X-box out the window, because I asked her how much she weighs. FML

...WOW. That's some serious addiction right there. That boy needs therapy. Seriously though OP, you don't need to go that far. You can RROD an XBox 360 just by looking at it the wrong way. I should know -- I own one. -_-

My dad doesn't know I have an xbox. He'd do the same thing hahaha. So I only play when he goes away on business trips which is regular enough anyway.

put the controller in a bee hive then his hands will be too swollen to play.

... The controller? Jesus. I've always had 3-4 controllers for my playstation, and they've been kinda abused, and only one stopped working, ever. And he could always walk downstairs and fetch it. Or are xbox controllers so fragile they break easily and possibly require fainting couches? Also: get your son a bigger variety of games. Playing CoD all the time isn't good for you. One needs to enjoy and absorb a variety of titles.

Ydi.. Wtf? You're the parent, learn to take charge.. There's an easy way to make him stop, ground him from it.. It'll work better than throwing the controller at the window.. Typical parent of today...

you seriously need to get him therapy. I know it can be addictive to play video games but your son's actions were ridiculous. controllers can be replaced anyways and it's clear he needs to stop playing so passionately if he's going to jump out of a window to save a mildly expensive controller.

I wonder where he gets it from.... Why don't you try talking to him? Or spending time doing something together? Answering his addiction with destruction isn't going to get either of you anywhere. Although jumping out a window is a little extreme, it woudn't have happened if you had some parenting skills.

^^^ I want to like this comment 1000 times, but I'll settle for 1. YDI, OP.

Exactly! you could spend some time with him, OP. But nope, you just throw his shit out the window and whine about how he has no future. Father of the year material right there.
